Kimora Lee Discusses The Details Behind The Family Trouble With Russell Simmons
Kimora took to Instagram on Monday to openly share some of the details behind the family issues with her ex-husband, and to stand up for her daughters, Ming Lee, 23, and Aoki Lee, 20.
"I'm so sorry to have to do this. But this man has been threatening my kids' lives. I'm hearing so much more now. We won't be bullied threatened or afraid," her Instagram Story reads.
The next Story slide continues, "Leave my kids alone. This narrative of attacking the only caregiver, the only parent in the home with the kids, the mom, AND the kids for one's own shortcomings and embarrassments is dead. Dead. Dead."
Another Story slide continues to share information.
Another Story slide showed a text message from Aoki to her father.
A box on the side reads, "No one should live like this. No one's child. This is abuse. Not ok. The threats. Not ok. The fear mongering. Not ok."
A TikTok video of Kimora's explanation, shared by TikToker shellie_27, gives more insight into the struggles Kimora and her daughters have been going through with Russell.
Many viewers dropped into the comments to share their thoughts which were heavily on the side of Kimora and her daughters.
One viewer of the video wrote, "Russell is a classic narcissist," and another added, "I totally believe her…Russell always struck me as a sinister person so this further confirms my suspicion."
Aoki Lee Simmons Also Shared Information On Instagram
Aoki also shared some emotional information about what she's been dealing with for a while.
"My father is not well, for years, he needs help and won’t accept that refuses to acknowledge he is not himself. He has threatened and bullied my sister, my grandma, he has harassed my grandma in the middle of the night in poor health, send a man to my sisters apartment at 2am to scare her," her Instagram caption began. (The post has since been removed.)
"He lashes out at ANYONE who does not say ‘oh Russell everything is fine’. Well it’s not fine. If ‘I never get a fashion job again’ like he threatens, I’ll be a lawyer I guess and work in criminal Justice. Sure I love my job but if he takes it away from me I won’t die. You don’t threaten my sister and grandma and mother and say ‘who’s gonna believe you I’m Russell Simmons nobody thinks I’m crazy’ well he is."
Aoki shared many receipts in the Stories - text message exchanges and a scary screen recording of a call between her and her father where he's seen yelling and carrying on.
While there was no sound to the video, it's clear what's happening. She also shared the screen recording in an Instagram post that has since been taken down.

At quick glance, much of the comment section sided against Russell.
"When daughters get to the point they lose their ish about their dads it’s because they are mourning the loss of who he used to be in their eyes. I recognize the pain in their voice and the narcissism in your words," one person wrote.
Another added, "When are people going to see that @unclerush is NOT A GOOD PERSON! He’s been called out by women for his “bad behavior” against him mow his own daughters are sharing his abusive behavior toward them. And he can simply apologize and y’all continue to stan by him. WHEN WILL YOU PEOPLE HOLD THIS MAN ACCOUNTABLE!"
According to PEOPLE, in 2018 it was reported that a total of 18 women have accused the music producer of sexual misconduct. According to various reports by The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times and The Hollywood Reporter, Simmons was accused of inappropriate behavior at business meetings, attempted assault, and rape. The accusations span more than three decades.
