Dean McDermott & Tori Spelling's Marriage Is Allegedly Not Over Despite Shocking Breakup Announcement

Fans remain confused about the state of Dean McDermott and Tori Spelling's marriage. Shortly after causing a stir with news of their separation, the spouses are reportedly upholding their vows for better or worse.

The lovebirds are part of the entertainment industry's most famous couples with over a decade-long relationship. The blonde beauty welcomed five kids with her beau, who has another child from a previous relationship.

Over the years, the pair's bond has been tested by various trials, including a 2013 infidelity scandal. However, their relationship seemingly took a major turn when the "Slasher" star shared negative news.

Over the weekend, fans were given the heavy news that the stars of "Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood" had gone their separate ways. However, a source is now claiming that is not entirely the case for the famous couple.

According to the insider who spoke to US Magazine, the longtime spouses are not throwing in the towel but working on strengthening their bond. "Tori and Dean are not getting a divorce. Tori and Dean have been better than ever," the informant declared. Insisting there was nothing to worry about, the source explained that having issues was typical in any relationship.

However, the dynamic duo would not be splitting because of their problems. The insider added: "They’ve had their ups and downs like any couple, but [they] have continued working on their marriage through couple’s counseling. They love each other and are not going to split."

This month has been filled with many family moments for the spouses, from commemorating their daughter Stella's 15th birthday on June 9 to flaunting their wardrobe at the Stand for Kids Gala the following day.

Despite their wholesome moments, McDermott shocked fans on June 17 with an emotional breakup message. In the since-deleted Instagram post, the father of six announced that he and Spelling were ending their longtime romance. 

"It's with great sadness and a very, very heavy heart that after 18 years together and 5 amazing children, that @torispelling and I have decided to go our separate ways and start a new journey of our own," the Canadian heartthrob penned.

Although he did not share the reason behind their separation, the 56-year-old claimed the couple would retain an amicable relationship for their children. "We will continue to work together as loving parents and guide and love our children through this difficult time," the entertainer's message read.

Like most celebrity breakup posts, the "Chopped Canada" host concluded his announcement with a plea for privacy, writing: "We ask that you all respect our privacy as we take this time to surround our family with love and work our way through this. Thank you all for your support and kindness."

Hours after breaking hearts with his upload, McDermott seemingly had a change of heart as he deleted the bombshell post. Addressing the TV personality's bizarre behavior, the source stated it might have been an impulsive action the entertainer immediately regretted. 

"Friends suspect that Dean posted that because he and Tori may have gotten into a big blowout fight last night. He obviously regretted it, so he deleted the post," the informant explained.

Before the celebrity chef made waves with his breakup announcement, the Canadian sensation and the "Beverly Hills, 90210" star first sparked divorce speculations in 2021. A source claimed Spelling wanted out of her longtime marriage to McDermott as their relationship had worsened.

According to the insider, the blonde beauty was ready to divorce but was not pushing for it because she felt "trapped." The informant explained her husband's actions influenced the Hollywood sensation's choice.

The father of six allegedly left home for two days following a row with his wife. However, when the Toronto native returned, the 56-year-old claimed he would sue the "True Tori" star for child support and alimony.

In response to McDermott's threats, the source stated Spelling had reminded her beau about the prenuptial agreement they signed before their wedding. This meant the father of six would not receive monetary compensation after their divorce.

Unfortunately, the insider noted Spelling was later informed that the “Pretty Hard Cases” actor could still sue her for child support and as a result went "ballistic" after hearing the news.

Although it seemed like their romance was over, the duo survived this phase and returned to their lovey-dovey selves months later. In November 2022, McDermott raved about his relationship with Spelling, telling sources the pair were better than ever.

"Everything is amazing. Everything’s great. We’re having a lot of fun," the entertainer said, adding that he could not wait to spend the festive seasons with his family. "We’re loving the cold weather and then getting ready for the craziness of Thanksgiving and Christmas… I’m excited."
