A year after rejoining the single pool, Brittany Snow is opening up about her challenges and those who supported her throughout the difficult period.
The entertainer is best known for her phenomenal portrayal of iconic characters like the cappella singer Chloe Beale in the "Pitch Perfect" franchise. Outside Hollywood, the actress actively raises awareness for charitable causes.
While promoting her mental awareness book, "September Letters," co-written by Jasper Guest, the 37-year-old seemingly hinted at her divorce from Tyler Stanaland. The former couple parted ways after two years of marriage in September 2022.
Brittany Snow Reveals A Former Co-Star Nursed Her Back To Health After Having An Emotional Breakdown
In a recent discussion with Bustle, the Young Artist Award winner reflected on the tumultuous year that affected her mental health while discussing her new book, "September Letters." Although she did not directly mention her divorce from the real estate broker, the TV personality claimed her life flipped upside down on a particular day.
"In the past year, I went through probably the hardest mental health challenge I've ever faced. In one day, in a matter of hours, my life turned completely upside down," Snow confessed, seemingly confirming that she never expected her separation from the pro surfer.
"I was blindsided, and everything I thought I knew, held sacred, and truly trusted in my life was completely different. A couple of days later, my grandmother passed away, and I think everything I knew about mental health was tested," the Tampa native continued.
Although she suddenly faced a rollercoaster of nerve-wracking emotions, the "Guiding Light" star survived thanks to her amazing friends. Acknowledging the power of having a solid support system, the entertainer said:
"Thank god for my friends. I don't know if I would have made it without them. They reminded me of who I was and the things I stood for. I used all the tools I knew. All of them."
Some of the pals responsible for helping the 37-year-old push through the past year were her "Pitch Perfect" co-stars. Gushing about her cappella sisters, Snow stated that their relationship transcended beyond the big screen to real life.
"When you're promoting a movie, it's always like, 'Oh, we're all best friends, and we all love each other,' because that helps sell the movie. But in this case, we were, we did get to become close friends, if not family," the blue-eyed goddess explained.
While recalling a heartbreaking moment from 2022, the Love Is Louder movement co-founder chose not to identify a particular castmate who played a significant part in her recovery from her "tricky" divorce.
"The last year has been tricky for me, and one of the girls, I just, you know, opened her door, and I just fell to the ground and just cried and laid there," the Tampa native revealed. "And she nursed me back to health for like four days."
Lauding this anonymous "Pitch Perfect" star with praises, the anti-bullying advocate confessed that she never thought her castmate would be capable of giving the support she did. This lesson was so significant that Snow added it to her book.
"I think that's what's important about this book, knowing that a thing you can have in your toolkit is a community of friends that will just sit with you on the floor," the media personality explained. "They don't need to give you advice. They don't need to fix it for you. They just are there."
The 'Parachute' Director Commemorated Her First Post-Divorce Birthday With An Emotional TributeĀ
Before her heart-to-heart interview, Snow opened up about her separation from Stanaland on her 37th birthday in March. The age milestone marked the entertainer's first trip around the sun after the former lovebirds ended their two-year romance.
The "John Tucker Must Die" actress marked the occasion on Instagram, sharing a picture of herself in the backseat of a car. The TV personality donned a beige coat with gorgeous hair cascading gently down her shoulders.
Although the picture radiated sweetness, the Boston Film Festival Award recipient's caption depicted her bittersweet emotions. "This year has been hard and beautiful. As I get older, I am stronger than I ever knew (except my back seems weaker and hurts way more,)" the humanitarian penned.
Despite the pain from her past, the "Would You Rather" actress noted that she was thankful instead of wallowing in regrets. "I am so grateful for all these days. Thank you for the birthday love, my friends," the Teen Choice Awards winner concluded her birthday message.
