Sam Asghari Slams 'Disgusting' Special About Britney Spears Post-Conservatorship

Actor Sam Asghari is coming to the defense of his wife, Britney Spears, after a new TV special plans to "expose" the past year and a half of her life after her conservatorship ended.

The special plans to focus on the couple's relationship, Britney's career, and her mental health. However, given the allegations that were made in the trailer, it seems like things are not going to look good for the 41-year-old pop star.

Although the special doesn't come out until tomorrow night, on Sunday afternoon, the Iranian actor took to his Instagram Stories to make it clear to fans exactly how he feels about the upcoming TV special.

Sam started out the first video in his Instagram Stories by saying, “The last thing I want to do is speak on my wife’s behalf. I would never do that. I respect her privacy. That’s why I don’t talk as much and I found it absolutely disgusting for the people that would, in her life at the time, when she didn’t have a voice, they went and told her story like it was theirs.”

“It was absolutely disgusting. And how are you going to take the most influential person of our generation, the princess of pop, America’s sweetheart, and put her in prison, where her father tells her what to do, what water to drink, who to see, and use her as a money-making machine,” he continued.

“And then, all of a sudden, after fifteen years, when she’s free after all those gaslighting, and after all those things that went down, now, you’re going to put her under a microscope and tell her story?" he asked. "No. No.”

His message spills over into a second video that he posted to his Instagram Stories a few minutes later. “No, that’s also disgusting so don’t do that,” he went on to say. “And don’t believe what you read online,” he added, addressing Britney’s fans directly.

“Ninety-nine percent of the time, those are all click baits for you to click and for them to make money and that time is over. You know, we’re not gonna allow that and that should stop,” he concluded. “It should stop. Absolutely. The gaslighting and all that s**t? Gotta stop.”

Many fans have also been vocal online about some of the allegations that were released so far. One of the allegations made was that the "Hold Me Closer" singer stays up for days at a time due to her excessive caffeine consumption.

Earlier this week, TMZ reported that Britney consumes caffeine drinks "by the gallon," adding that she consumes coffee, Red Bull, Celsius, and dandelion tea “almost nonstop.”

The outlet claimed that experts say that this is “unsurprising for people with mental illnesses.” Dr. Drew even went as far as to tell them that although it’s not “particularly healthy” to be drinking so much caffeine, people “with mental illnesses crave the high from these drinks.”

In an Instagram post shortly after the allegations were made, the "Stronger" singer fired back at the allegations, claiming that she doesn't even like to drink Red Bull. "You clever little turds … Sorry but I never stay up late with Red Bull !!!" she wrote. "It is absolutely the worst drink ever … I make jewelry, candles, and doll clothes for my friend’s daughter … I don’t like people in [the] media bullying me and saying hateful things."

However, the "Toxic" singer has made it no secret how much she loves drinking coffee after being denied it during her conservatorship, which lasted from February 2008 to November 2021. In one Instagram post from December 2021, the “Slumber Party” singer talked about the “glow” that she gets from coffee.

“Right when I put my makeup on … nope it wasn’t the foundation … it wasn’t the mascara … it wasn’t the two extra hours of sleep … it wasn’t the blush … the glow on my beautiful face and widening of my eyes just a bit more … well it was the coffee !!!!!”
