Singer Britney Spears and her husband, Iranian actor Sam Asghari, seem to be putting up a united front after reports surfaced on February 9 that the former personal trainer was planning an intervention for his wife.

Around midnight, the 41-year-old pop star took to Instagram to address the allegations, while the actor made his own separate statement to assure fans that Britney is in "full control of her life" after her 13-year conservatorship ended in November 2021.

In a statement made to Access Hollywood, the 28-year-old actor confirmed that the "invention did not occur." However, he did not deny that there were plans for an intervention in place.

“My wife is in full control of her life and will continue to make all decisions involving her care regardless of circumstances,” he continued, adding, “Speculation on her health is inappropriate and should end immediately.”

In her own Instagram post, the "Hold Me Closer" singer shared a cryptic message that read, “A state of gratitude will shift you to a higher frequency.”

“It makes me sick to my stomach that it’s even legal for people to make up stories that I almost died … I mean at some point enough is enough !!!” Britney wrote.

“I’m probably going to have to stop posting on Instagram because even though I enjoy doing it, there’s obviously a lot of people who don’t wish me well !!!” Britney went on.

“I’m honestly not surprised at all … Again doing the best I can !!!" she added. "Again, the conservatorship has been over for almost a year … No folks, it’s not 2007 … it’s 2023 and I’m making my first homemade lasagna at home !!!”

Britney wrapped up her post, writing, “I finally got my fireplace to work in my living room !!! As my hubby says it best: don’t believe everything you read !!! All that love right back at ya !!!”

It looks like Britney is getting the support she needs from her husband, who liked her post on Instagram. He did not comment, as Britney has disabled comments on Instagram since the start of the new year.

Reports of the intervention came the day after Sam took to his Instagram Stories to share a video that he captioned “Matching outfits at Target.” The video shows both Britney and Sam walking down the hallway of a dressing room at Target in button-down pink shirts, black shorts, and white baseball caps.

On Thursday, TMZ was the first to report the news of an intervention. A source with "regular contact" with Britney told the outlet "I'm afraid she's gonna die" amid allegations that the pop star is struggling with her mental health and substance abuse.

Sources say that her father, Jamie Lynn, had no involvement with the planning of the intervention. Instead, the outlet reported that it was her manager who rented a house in Los Angeles, where the intervention was supposed to take place on Tuesday.

Her husband, her doctors, an interventionist, and her manager were all supposed to "convince" an "unsuspecting Britney" that she needed help. The "plan" was to keep her at the rental home for two months while she received treatment for her physical and mental health.

However, insiders say that the plan fell through when Britney became "somewhat aware" of the plan. Instead, she visited a doctor herself on Wednesday and the meeting reportedly "went well."

Later in the day, sources told PEOPLE that Sam “is being as supportive as possible" of his wife amid her health struggles. "Everyone had hoped Britney could be convinced to seek treatment before things got any worse but they knew it wouldn't be easy," the source said. "She's been going through a lot and has been increasingly combative."

Another insider reported, "Britney has been acting increasingly erratically and those around her have grown more concerned," adding, "She is often up all night, sleeps during [the] day, and has a lot of anger."
