It seems Britney Spears and Sam Asghari enjoy a good trip to Target, just like everyone else!
Despite bombshell reports that the Iranian actor planned to stage an intervention for his wife, it looks like Sam wants to make it seem like everything is all well and good. On Wednesday night, he took to his Instagram Stories to share a video of him and Britney having fun in matching outfits in a Target dressing room.

On Wednesday, the former personal trainer took to his Instagram Stories to share a video that he captioned “Matching outfits at Target.” The video features the two of them walking toward the camera in pink button-down blouses that they wear unbuttoned to reveal white shirts. They paired the look with black shorts and white baseball caps.
Although the video begins with Sam recording their stroll on his phone, it then switches to Britney holding up the camera. She does a little dance and Sam quickly joins in. It looks like the two are having a blast before the six-second clip cuts out.
Believe it or not, the “Hold Me Closer” singer has always been a fan of shopping at major retailers, even at the height of her fame. As far back as 2007, Britney was photographed shopping at a Rite Aid on Sunset Boulevard.
Paparazzi recorded Britney’s every move as she stocked up on household items, including Lucky Charms cereal, cookies, chocolate, salsa chicken, body spray, and even a stuffed horse. Fortunately, it seems that Britney’s recent trip to Target was much more low-key.
Was Sam Planning On Staging An Intervention For His Wife?
On Thursday morning, TMZ released a bombshell report claiming that those closest to the “Slumber Party” singer planned on staging an intervention for her due to her struggles with mental health and substance abuse. One source that reportedly had “regular contact” with the singer even went as far as to claim, “I’m afraid she’s going to die.”
The intervention was supposed to go down on Tuesday but never happened. Insiders told the outlet that her manager rented a house in Los Angeles and planned to take an “unsuspecting Britney” there for an intervention, which would have been hosted by Sam, her manager, an interventionist, and various doctors.
Ultimately, the plan fell through when Britney became “somewhat aware” of the plan. Britney reportedly saw a doctor yesterday afternoon, which insiders say “went well.” However, it’s not clear if Britney spoke to a doctor or a therapist.
According to insiders, those in her inner circle have been “alarmed by her erratic, volatile behavior” which includes “flying off the handle” more and more often. They also claimed that Britney is “not taking the medications that stabilize her” and are instead “taking meds” to “hype her up.”
That being said, a separate source told Page Six that the intervention fell through because it was ultimately deemed “unnecessary.” A source told the outlet, “Unfortunately, there is a lot of hysteria in the media right now, but Britney is fine, and much of this has been overblown and grossly distorted.”
It’s worth noting that the “Hold Me Closer” singer was quiet on social media on Wednesday and has yet to respond to the intervention reports.
At this time, it does not look like her father, Jamie Spears, had any influence on the proposed intervention. The highly debated conservatorship first started in February 2008 and lasted until November 2021.
Jamie had total jurisdiction over Britney’s personal and financial affairs until September 2021, when he was suspended from the conservatorship.
During one court testimony, Britney once alleged that her father had forced her to go to a mental health facility against her will in early 2019.
The 2021 “Framing Britney Spears” documentary focused on how the 13-year conservatorship was put in place following the pop star’s public breakdown the previous year. Later that year, Judge Brenda Penny of the Los Angeles County Superior Court ruled that the conservatorship was “no longer required.”
“Good God I love my fans so much it’s crazy !!! I think I’m gonna cry the rest of the day !!!!” Britney wrote on Instagram at the time. “Best day ever … praise the Lord … can I get an Amen????”
