Sam Asghari Denies Ditching Britney Spears During Alleged 'Meltdown'

Singer Britney Spears and her husband Sam Asghari are trying to set the record straight on what really went on Friday night at a JOEY restaurant in Woodland Hills.

Over the weekend, a rare video of Britney sitting in public was released online. That video was taken by a customer and appeared to show the 41-year-old pop star sitting alone at a restaurant table on Friday night.

Witnesses say that Sam "stormed out" after Britney started acting "manic" and talking "gibberish" but the couple, who got married in June 2022, paint an entirely different picture of how things went down.

Over the weekend, a pap caught up with Sam and asked him about the allegations that Britney had a "meltdown" at a restaurant. For his part, Sam had already partially responded to the allegations. On Saturday night, hours after the video surfaced online, the "Hot Seat" actor took to his Instagram Stories, simply writing, "Don't believe what you read online people."

On Sunday, TMZ shared a video clip that showed a pap catching up with Sam and asking him, “How are you and Britney? The other night we saw the video from the restaurant. Like how did… what happened? Can you elaborate a little bit?”

“People get a little bit excited to see my wife. So everybody’s filming. Everybody’s doing their thing," Sam replied. "But you know how it is, uh, fame comes with the territory and I went to get the car to get the h*ll out of there and people just thought I’d left but that didn’t happen. So it is what it is, man.”

“Was she just getting frustrated because everywhere she goes, someone has a camera and-" the reporter asked, to which Sam replied, “It’s frustrating. Absolutely.”

“So it’s kind of like she felt disrespected,” the pap added.

“Yeah, you know, when you sit down to have a meal and people get their cameras out and start filming you, it’s disrespectful, but you know what? Fame, it just comes with the territory and that’s it,” Sam said as he walked away.

For her part, the "Toxic" singer also took to Instagram on Sunday night to claim that she was "drunk" and that people treated her like "Shrek" at the restaurant.

In a lengthy post on Sunday night, the "Slumber Party" singer took to Instagram to share an illustration of a girl pouring syrup on a plate of pancakes. In the caption, Britney wrote, "I watched 'NATURAL BORN KILLERS' this morning and d*mn I got ENLIGHTENED … and HOLY SMOKES SH*T BALLS I’m sure I brought a billion SMILES to me LOOKING LIKE SHREK at a restaurant."

"Even my best friend couldn’t WAIT TO SEND IT TO ME, THEY DON’T THINK TWICE because we are all natural born killers," she continued. "I know the news is all hyped about me being a little drunk at a restaurant … it’s like they’ll be WATCHING MY EVERY MOVE ? !!!"

"I’m so flattered they talk about me like a maniac THEN have the balls to talk about all the negative things that happened in my past !!!" Britney went on. "Honestly it would be safer for me to compliment this world and f*ck up because if I become a prophet and don’t create history, we might have something y’all… I’m just KIDDING, but it’s a good thought."

Britney then seemed to address her fans, adding, "I know y’all are rooting for me and all and make sure you check out the shocking Shrek picture of me … I was like d*mn that’s horrific yet there were two pics where I was normal … either way honestly I know nobody gives a flying f*ck what I do !!! I’m just bored writing this paragraph like a d*mn idiot."

Fans are a bit concerned that Britney said that her "best friend" couldn't wait to send her the article, but she didn't name names, so fans can only guess who she is talking about. Britney has removed comments on all of her Instagram posts over the past few weeks, which have led to her fans being even more concerned about the pop star.
