Not new to dealing with negative comments on social media, Simmons dove deep into the topic to try to find some insight on why too many people feel they can lash out to strangers on the internet.

"Maybe I just need parental controls as an adult but is anyone like into sociology and has read ANY insights on like...why some internet blogs/threads/behave how they do?," she wrote in an Instagram Story shared on Thursday.

"Yes I know 'haters don't matter' but the fact that spaces exist were 100s or 1000s of adults just say ever more hateful, far fetched, just crazier and crueler things and not one person is like 'hold on how did we get here this just makes no sense' scares me!"

In her next Story slide, she gives a few examples of things she's posted that's received negativity for no good reason.

"I'm like the millionth college student to write bad poetry for their Instagram or wear something dumb," she wrote. "Like comment normal 'Ew I hate it' and move on."

Her Story continues to explain that some of her recent posts of her modeling gigs and the "Valentine's Day post debacle" have received unnecessary negative comments.

"Sometimes I do wonder what is up with humans because I don't see what there is to be SO offended and intense and angry over, I don't even think I've done or said anything intense," she wrote.

"Like you can just say I'm annoying and unfollow or leave a comment like a normal person but I can't imagine what convinces people I've never met in a GROUP to convince themselves I've like hit them all individually in the shin with a razor scooter, cursed them out on life TV and run over their dog."

Aoki Lee Simmons Finds It Hard To Just "Ignore The Haters"

In a third Story slide, the model and Harvard University student explains that her Instagram page is her personal account.

"It's work, it's school, it's my friends, side projects, sliding into G-Eazy's DMs, whatever my personal affairs may be, so 'ignore the haters' or 'be above it' is so strange to me like if you DM me a crazy mean thread or tag me in something I'll probably see it? If you lie about me it does bother me," she wrote.

"Social media can be weird in that people can do bonkers, amoral things, but if the person with the 'bigger audience' responds they then reverse it like 'omg ur so pressed you can't handle social media, you need to leave/be quiet.'"

The 20-year-old model ultimately wants people to recognize that there's a person on the other side of a social media page. "What is wrong with y'all who do this sort of thing because it's not normal," she concluded her Story. "I don't have to pretend it is."

In a fourth Story slide, Simmons continues to discuss that this negative behavior should not be a normal occurrence and she won't pretend to not see it.

"Like what is this Spider-Man 'power and responsibility' business, I could be naming names and posting profiles, finding full government names, cause some of y'all NEED to be publicly embarrassed and accountable for the stuff you say," she wrote.

"I don't care what the darknet community homies tells you, you should be ashamed of whatever miserable online weird life you are leading, that is not normal, and it's not ok. But you get a pass because I'm supposed to pretend I can't see it? That's pathetic."

Another Story slide calls out the haters for how they hide behind an alias or in DMs. She added a blurb at the bottom of the slide that talks about the common attitude of hiding identities while behaving badly.
