The 'Eras Tour' Officially Kicks Off After Months Of News Coverage!

Tickets for The Eras Tour went on sale in November, two weeks after Swift's announcement! Demand would soon call for her team to add more shows to the tour's roster.

Headlines surrounding Ticketmaster's response to high-demand ticket sales would go on to dominate the news cycle in the music industry for the next several weeks. The ticket giant would face criticism from fans and lawmakers, alike, and would also be the target of lawsuits.

Swift would later speak out against Ticketmaster in mid-November, proclaiming how "difficult" it was for her and her management to "trust an outside entity with those relationships and loyalties" between Swift and her fanbase. She would add in her Instagram Story statement, it was also "excruciating for me to watch mistakes happen without any recourse."

The "Fearless" singer would also reveal she and her team had made sure Ticketmaster was equipped to handle such a high-level demand for tickets, and the outlet "reassured" them it was possible.

Ticketmaster would issue an apology of their own and would cite an overwhelming and unprecedented ticket demand. Swifties would soon take Ticketmaster to task on social media with criticism. Fans also alleged Ticketmaster had been deleting negative commentary from their Twitter thread intended to give more insight into what had gone wrong.
