DaBabyhas been a star since 2019 as it all started with his breakout hit single, "Suge." From that point, every album that he's released experienced massive success. Among them are three platinum projects in "Baby On Baby," "Kirk," and 2020's "Blame It On Baby." He also recently put out his "Masterpiece" single in January.
Now, the Charlotte rapper is deciding to raise his price in regards to booking him to appear on other artists' songs. Baby is raising this by a couple of hundred thousand.
DaBaby Is Charging $300,000 To Appear On Other Artists' Songs
DaBaby took to his Instagram stories to reveal that his feature price for songs now is listed at $300,000. He also noted that this price used to be at $5,000. Many believe that this $300k price is absurd but others believe that this isn't so surprising considering the fact that he's been winning big over the last two years.
Lately, DaBaby has been working with international pop stars such as Camila Cabello and Dua Lipa. These type of collaborations definitely accelerate one's own stardom.
DaBaby Scored A No. 1 Single In 2020
Baby has a lot of momentum at the start of 2021 and this is due to the incredible year he had in 2020. In April, he released his third studio album, "Blame It On Baby." This project debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and had a huge record on it as well. This was "Rockstar" featuring Roddy Ricch, which wasn't even a lead single ahead of Blame It On Baby's release. This record hit the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and is also platinum in the US.
DaBaby Has Four 2021 Grammy Nominations
Another huge reason why DaBaby may be raising his feature price is due to his Grammy nominations. For 2021, he is nominated for four awards. This is for the categories of Best Rap Song, Best Record, Best Rap Performance, and Best Rap/Sung Performance. "Rockstar" is nominated for all of these categories except for Best Rap Performance. DaBaby's 2019 "Bop" single is in that position. In 2020, his "Suge" single was nominated for Best Rap Song and also for Best Rap Performance.
DaBaby Has Been Giving Back To Hometown
DaBaby has also been using his success to give back to his hometown of Charlotte. This past week, he took to his Instagram stories to express how he wants to help the homeless in the city. He reposted an IG post where it explained how Los Angeles has been setting up home villages for their homeless community. DaBaby said he wants to do the same thing in Charlotte. He then asked Instagram to get him in contact with the city's Mayor, Vi Lyles.
