One of the latest gestures in giving back to the community that he’s planned involves the homeless population. Baby took to his Instagram stories to express his interest in helping the city’s homeless population. This is based on an idea after Los Angeles built “home villages” for the homeless.
DaBaby Wants To Get In Contact With Charlotte’s Mayor
DaBaby says that he has seen too many homeless people over the course of the pandemic and that’s why he wants to help the ones in Charlotte. In his IG story, he also asked his fans to help him reach Mayor Vi Vyles.
People in LA have been able to sponsor these housing units at $3,000 each. With Charlotte being a more affordable city to live in, it could be much easier for people in Charlotte to help out in this situation. For DaBaby, it’s no problem for him either way.
DaBaby Fed The Homeless In Charlotte For Thanksgiving
According to WBTV, he turned a parking lot into an outdoor restaurant so those in need could get something to eat. This occurred at AerialCLT at 801 North Tryon Street from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The event was titled “WE ALL EAT” and was sponsored by DaBaby’s record label, Billion Dollar Baby Entertainment and South Coast Music Group.
DaBaby Also Held Toy Drive For Christmas In Charlotte
One month later, DaBaby continued to help the Queen City as this time, it was done in the form of a toy drive. According to WBTV, he held his “Billion Dollar Baby Christmas” event. There, Billion Dollar Baby Entertainment, Interscope Records, The MAC Agency and Foundation for Social Impact all helped out with this event. Toys and other household items were given to over 200 children.
“2020 has been hard on all of us,” said DaBaby to WBTV. “Anything that I can do to make the load lighter on my city – I’m going to step up and do it.”
DaBaby Is Nominated For Four GRAMMYs In 2021
DaBaby may win big early in 2021 again as he has three Grammy nominations, as the award show will take place in Los Angeles on March 14. This is after the GRAMMYs were originally postponed in January due to COVID-19 concerns in LA.
Baby is nominated in the categories of Best Rap Song, Best Record, Best Rap Performance, and Best Rap/Sung Performance. “Rockstar” featuring Roddy Ricch is in all of these categories except Best Rap Performance. There, DaBaby’s “Bop” single is nominated.
