Pink continues to miss her late father, Jim Moore, dearly and wouldn't mind going above and beyond to relive some of the memories she shared with him while he was alive.
The singer, whose original name is Alecia Beth Moore, opened up during an interview that she had lots of questions to ask the Vietnam War veteran who died at age 75 in August 2021 due to prostate cancer.
Pink Is Curious To Know What Her Late Father Thought Of Her Life Choices
The mom of two seemed to have shared a special bond with her now-deceased father who played an important role in her life and successful career.
During an exclusive interview with People Magazine, the "What About Us" singer opened up about the grief she experienced after losing her dad.
Expressing her feelings, she said, "When a daughter loses her father, your first thought is, 'No one's ever going to love me like that again,' and it's a very lonely feeling." Adding, she said, "I wish I could talk to him sometimes and ask him more questions."
Buttressing her point about the questions, she said, "'Did you like me'? As a parent, you have to let your children make their own choices. You want to stop them sometimes, but you realize you can't, And I realize now that my dad, in a lot of ways, was holding back a lot of his real opinions so that I could make my own choices. I want to ask, 'What did you really think'?"
As Pink continues to miss her beloved dad, she is choosing to honor his legacy the best way she can — through music. The songstress revealed that her new album, "Trustfall," contained a song that served as a tribute to the late veteran. She revealed that the song resonated with her when she received it from the original writers.
In her words, "They sent me that song after he passed, and I felt like it was a gift. I wouldn't be able to write that song yet. I haven't unpacked that suitcase yet. I don't think I will for a while. But it's such a simple, beautiful song, and I love the idea that he might be somewhere nice."
The bond between Pink and the late Moore is undeniable. The singer had earlier revealed in a 2007 interview that the war veteran was one of her earliest supporters when she decided to pursue music professionally. She said, "He was my first rock star."
The 'Lady Marmalade' Crooner Remembered Her Father With A Touching Throwback Photo
Pink seems to have continued the legacy of celebrating her father at any given chance she gets. Per The Blast, the mom of two recently shared a throwback photo of her father with a short note that read, "Miss you, Dad" on her Instagram page.
The emotional post dedicated to the late veteran showed the singer in her infant years trying to climb onto her father's lap as he positioned to play his guitar. Accompanying the image was a 15-second smooth jazz song.
Prior to the touching post, the songwriter had initially shared a heartwarming tribute in honor of her father's posthumous 76th birthday. Grieving the loss of the Vietnam veteran, Pink channeled all her hurt into writing a captivating but painful piece to mark his posthumous birthday.
She shared a picture of her father's grave, which didn't have a gravestone but was adorned with an American flag, while a lit birthday candle sat on top of two black doughnuts resting on the protective paper.
The "True Love" crooner supported the soul-stirring image with a heartfelt message written in a lyrical form and declared that "42 years" was not enough time to know her father. She ended the message by wishing her extraordinary dad a happy birthday and also stated the late veteran was "gone but not forgotten."
The Pennsylvania Native Has Had To Deal With Body Weight Issues
Aside from being an emotional wreck after losing her dad, the Grammy award-winning artist has also battled weight gain issues just like most entertainers in the showbiz industry.
Pink revealed during an interview with "Variety" that she gained and lost 36 pounds during the COVID-19 pandemic. Opening up, she said, "Having breaks is good for my voice. Not so good for the body. Especially during the COVID – I gained 36 pounds. All I did was make sourdough and then eat the sourdough."
She, however, noted that she lost those 36 pounds and became stronger than she had ever been in her life.
