Singer-Songwriter Pink is thinking back to the loss of her father, Jim Moore, who died in August 2021 at age 75.

Pink, born Alecia Beth Moore, is a trailblazer in the music industry. She is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and dancer. She gained recognition when she released her R&B-influenced debut album, which sprung out two chart-topping Billboard hits in 2000.

Consequently, her success led to her collaborative single for the "Moulin Rouge!" soundtrack alongside Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim, and Mya. As the rockstar's career blossomed, viewers were privy to the bond the father-daughter duo shared. Hence, the "Just Like A Pill" crooner uses every opportunity to commemorate her fantastic dad, and this new year is no different.

In a recent update showcased to her millions of followers, the "Lady Marmalade" collaborator shared a throwback photo of her father with a short note that read, "Miss you, Dad."

The emotional Instagram post dedicated to her father showed Pink in her infant years trying to climb onto her father's lap as he positioned to play his guitar. A 15-second smooth jazz song complimented the image.

Recalling this special memory on social media comes a little over a year after the Grammy winner shared a heartwarming tribute in honor of her father's posthumous 76th birthday in 2021. The scars of the loss were still fresh in the singer's heart as the Vietnam Veteran died seven weeks prior from a long battle with prostate cancer.

As reported by The Blast, the 43-year-old channeled all her hurt into writing a captivating but painful piece for her father's posthumous birthday. Pink shared a picture of her father's grave, which didn't have a gravestone but was adorned with an American flag, while a lit birthday candle sat on top of two black doughnuts resting on the protective paper.

Accompanying the image was a heartfelt message written in a lyrical form, in which she declared that "42 years" was not enough time to know her father. She proceeded with the following remarks, "You and i's hearts have always been a bit broken. And you're the only one that understood that without having to talk about it. I don't know where you are. And therefore I don't know where I am either."

In addition, she shared a 2007 MTV show picture moment. During that show, Pink interrupted the event to bring her father on stage, saying, "He wrote a song about forty years ago in Vietnam," she said during the concert. "And I think it's important today because it's a soldier's cry, and we're producing them by the thousands. And tonight, this is a really special evening because the first time my dad's ever performed in front of a group is going to be right now."

Another instance was when she celebrated the Vietnam hero for Father's Day in 2019. "I love you Daddy Sir. Happy Father's Day. Thank you. A thousand million times. Thank you. I love you more. You loved me first," she wrote alongside an Instagram post.

Conversely, the year prior, she shared a post highlighting how comforting he was during her brief split from her husband Carey Hart in 2008, writing that he had been "her person" all of her life. Though she ended the message by sharing that he made her feel "important" and "worth loving," a brief part of it read, "He has fought monsters in my closet, and monsters that posed as principals in school buildings, you name it. He has taken on the world for and with me, no questions asked."
