Juwan And Chanen Johnson Learn To Make Louisiana Gumbo On Episode of 'Emeril Cooks'

Juwan and Chanen Johnson have had a lot of excitement in their lives recently. The NFL player and social media influencer are currently expecting their rainbow baby after two miscarriages, and also just recently shared fun news about an exciting television show appearance.

Thanks to their love of cooking and their bigger than life social media presence, the couple is featured in an episode of "Emeril Cooks" with Emeril Lagasse on The Roku Channel.

Chanen mentioned the fact that the couple were going to be on a television show a few times on social media in the past few weeks but wasn't able to talk about it just yet.

Now that the show has been released, she's able to promote it on her wildly popular social media channels. Chanen shared some information about the show on Instagram captioned, "a literal dream come true???."

Chanen also shared the big news in an Instagram Story and added a link so her followers can easily watch the episode.

Lagasse began the episode talking about the couple's fun-loving nature and their hilarious TikTok videos. "My favorite Ju and Chan videos revolve around our shared passion - food and making good meals," he said. Chanen explained that dinner is the one meal the couple has together during football season. "That's what we got, we got our dinners. I like to make it fun," she said.

Lagasse then jumped in to say, "And the fans love watching, which is why they're always ready to share their cooking with their followers."

"The food is, of course, always picture perfect on TikTok," Lagasse said. "But the couple says they could always use a few good pointers to up their game in the kitchen." That's where Lagasse comes in.

When Lagasse asked Chanen what she's cooking at home, she tells him she's Mexican, so she cooks a lot of Mexican food, which they love, but she wants to cook more Louisiana style meals since they are living in New Orleans.

"Here's what I'm gonna do for you guys today. I have a lot of favorite gumbos, but one of my favorites is a chicken and sausage gumbo," Lagasse said. "The secret of a great gumbo, it's all about the roux."

For people who are unfamiliar with roux, Lagasse added a tip on the screen to explain. "A 'roux' is flour and fat, such as butter or oil, cooked together and used as a thickener for sauces, soups, and stews." He then continues to explain how to make the perfect Louisiana style gumbo and demonstrates it for the couple.

With a loyal fanbase on social media, many of the couple's Instagram and TikTok followers were excited to hear about their television show appearance.
