DaBaby was one of the most dominant rappers of 2020 as he was recently named Mediabase's most played artist on Urban Radio. This past weekend, the Charlotte rapper also went to the studio with Lil Wayne, one of hip-hop's best rappers to ever do it. The two took some photos together as well as Baby went on to post them on his Instagram feed. There, Baby had fans debating in his comments after a bold statement he made in his caption.

In DaBaby's caption, he said "Best rappers alive," as he also included tornado and goat emojis next to Wayne's IG handle. In the 2000s, Wayne labeled himself as the best rapper alive and his supporters have been riding with him with that title for years. 

Now, it looks like DaBaby decided to take a page out of Wayne's book and have the confidence to give himself that title with Wayne as well. In the comments section, many disagreed with his statement, though.

DaBaby And Wayne Appeared On Jack Harlow's 'What's Poppin' Remix In 2020

DaBaby and Wayne were also part of a huge record together last year. That was Jack Harlow's star-studded "What's Poppin" remix as it featured Tory Lanez, too. That went on to be regarded as arguably the hottest remix of 2020. DaBaby and Lil Wayne were the two go features for several remixes that year as Baby was heard on Saweetie's "Tap In" remix with Post Malone and Jack Harlow. Wayne was also heard on City Girl's "P*ssy Talk" remix that also featured Quavo and Jack Harlow

DaBaby Has Four Grammy Nominations This Month

DaBaby- 'Rockstar' music video feat. Roddy Ricch

DaBaby also has a lot of momentum heading into the new year as he has four Grammy nominations this month. Three of them were for his "Rockstar" single featuring Roddy Ricch. This appeared on his third studio album, "Blame It On Baby," which was released in April 2020. The categories that Rockstar is in are Best Rap Song, Best Record, and Best Rap/Sung Performance. The other Grammy nomination goes to his "Bop" single for Best Rap Performance. That record is from his 2019 "Kirk" album.

Wayne Will Be Sentenced For 2019 Firearm Case In March

As for Wayne, legal woes are starting to plague him again as he will be sentenced on March 3. This was after he plead guilty to illegally possessing a loaded weapon. This is in regards to a December 2019 incident where a gold-plated Remington 1911, .45-caliber loaded handgun with six of ammunition was found on a private jet that Wayne was on. The jet was located at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport. At the time, Wayne was also found with cocaine, ecstasy, and oxycodone. Wayne could face 10 years in prison.
