Britney Spears Deactivates Instagram After Changing Name To 'River Red'

Oops! It looks like Britney Spears has done it again!

On Wednesday, January 25, 2023, many of the 41-year-old pop star's singers took to Instagram to see if the "Hold Me Closer" singer had posted during the night, only to find that her page had been deactivated!

Fans who try to visit her Instagram page are now greeted with a message from Meta, Instagram's parent company, reading, "Sorry, this page isn't available. The link you followed may be broken, or the page may have been removed. Go back to Instagram."

Back in December, Britney claimed that she had “accidentally” deleted her Instagram account, writing, "I know my Instagram has been down a few times but honestly I did the last two times myself !!! Oops ... I accidentally pressed the wrong button ... d*mn that stupid button !!!"

However, many fans were skeptical of Britney's explanation, considering that many users have deactivated their accounts before and know that Meta has you confirm several times that you actually want to deactivate your account before removing it.

Whatever the reason, it's unclear how long the "Slumber Party" singer is going to be offline. Sometimes, she deletes her Instagram for a few hours. Sometimes, she deletes it for a few days. If that's the case, she is usually pretty vocal on Twitter before she hops back on Instagram! Fans will just have to keep watching her social media channels to find out when Britney returns!

On Thursday, January 20, 2023, the "Oops!...I Did It Again" singer shared an Instagram post saying that she wanted to change her name to “River Red” after saying she wanted to change her name to “Brooklyn” only a few weeks ago.

In the caption, Britney wrote: “A bright one … easy does it !!! Thank you, childhood friend, I found my ball … don’t underestimate the power of purity !!! I see right through it all … it has liquid and is wet … it’s playful and has mass !!! I changed my name to River Red 🔴 !!!"

"Yet the fire 🔥 is where it illuminates 💡 … to stare at it and jump right in with no fear at all !!!!" Britney continued. "Sh*t. Now I have to find my FORK 😏🍴😂 !!!” It's worth noting that the "Toxic" singer has changed her name to "River Red" in the bio of her Instagram account, but fans aren't quite sure what it's supposed to mean.

On Sunday, January 22, the “Baby One More Time” singer posted another video on Instagram that featured her dancing in three different outfits. She starts out dancing in a white crop top and black shorts, only to change into a gray crop top, and then end the video with a long-sleeve red top.

At one point, Britney appears to gargle water out of a cup before moving her hips around in circles. At another point in the video, especially when she's wearing the crop top, she smacks her cheeks several times before she resumes dancing.

In the caption, Britney wrote: “Howdy ho down … tipsy cattle balls !!! I have no idea what that means 🙈 … feeling kooky and silly but can’t act too kooky or silly like kids because they say ‘she’s CRAY CRAY’ … either way I gotta move … so I did !!!”

“Sharing because I matter and if every person I call TAKES 9 RINGS TO ANSWER you can be certain I might get someone’s attention … all that LOVE !!!” Britney went on. “GOOD GOD RIGHT BACK AT YA !!! I bet after I post this my security answers after 2 RINGS … I be alive coming on my horse !!!”

Fans are not quite sure what Britney is trying to say, but it's possible that she might be having private behind-the-scenes drama with her family again, especially considering what she posted on Saturday.

On Saturday night, the "Toxic" singer created another Instagram post that contained an image that she credited to @boipoppin. The picture features a blonde woman leaping through the air in a sparkling pink bra, shorts, and ballet shoes.

The text around the photo reads: "I love being me it pisses off all the right people." It seems that Britney might be trying to send a message to someone but fans aren't sure who!
