The Presley Family Announces Public Memorial Service For Lisa Marie Presley At Graceland Estate

After her recent tragic death, Lisa Marie Presley's family has announced a public memorial service for the singer at their infamous Graceland estate. 

Lisa Marie died earlier this month in the hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest in her California home. Her mother, Priscilla, confirmed the singer's death in a statement and asked for privacy as their family processes the tragic loss. A rep for Lisa Marie's daughter, Riley, later confirmed her mother would be buried in Graceland beside her son, Ben.

Lisa Marie will also be laid to rest beside her famous father, Elvis Presley, and her grandparents, amongst other family members. Graceland has been focal in the family for decades, and Lisa Marie herself previously threw a public vigil for the 40th anniversary of Elvis's death. The singer is survived by her mom, kids, and several ex-husbands, including Nicolas Cage and Michael Lockwood.

In honor of Lisa Marie's memory, the Presley family has announced they're holding a public memorial service on January 22nd at their Graceland estate. A family rep released a statement to Us Weekly on Jan 16th to confirm the memorial service. The family also asked fans and well-wishers to visit the Graceland website for further information on the service.

The statement read, "Riley, Harper, Finley, and Priscilla are grateful for the support, well-wishes, and outpouring of love honoring their beloved Lisa Marie." It further shared that the memorial service will be held "on the front lawn of Graceland at 9:00 am on Sunday, January 22, in Memphis."

Furthermore, instead of flowers and other condolence gifts, the family has requested that anyone wishing "to send something" donate instead to the Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation. The foundation offers "support to various charitable organizations, especially focusing on arts, education, and children's programs in the Memphis/Whitehaven area."

Lisa Marie's mother, Priscilla, confirmed her daughter's death to the public on January 12th. The "Now What" singer reportedly died shortly after being rushed to the hospital. According to Us Weekly, Lisa Marie suffered a terrible cardiac arrest while at her California home.

Priscilla released a statement to confirm her passing. It read, "It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us. She was the most passionate, strong, and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss."

The day after Priscilla's statement, a rep for Lisa Marie's daughter, Riley, confirmed the funeral details to Us Weekly. She shared that her mother would be buried at Graceland beside "her beloved son Ben." Ben was buried on the estate in October 2020, three months after his death by suicide.

Asides from Ben, Lisa Marie will also be laid to rest beside her father, Elvis, who died in 1977 at the age of 42. Her grandparents, Vernon and Gladys, are also buried on the grounds, as well as several other Presley family members. The infamous estate has been a focal point of the family for several decades.

In 2015, the Presley family threw a party to celebrate what would have been Elvis's 80th birthday at the estate. Two years later. Lisa Marie herself organized a public vigil to honor the 40th anniversary of her father's death. Over 50,000 fans joined the singer in lighting torches in honor of Elvis's memory.

With her tragic passing, Lisa Marie left behind her mom, kids, and several ex-husbands. People magazine confirmed that the Graceland property would go to her three daughters, Riley, Harper, and Finley. 

She had a son, Ben, who unfortunately passed by suicide, and her daughter Riley with her first husband, Danny Keough, from whom she split in 1994. That same year, the "Idiot" singer married King of Pop Michael Jackson, whom she eventually divorced in 1996.

In 2002, Lisa Marie married actor Nicolas Cage, and they divorced two years later, in 2004. She then married Michael Lockwood in 2006, and they had twin daughters, Finley and Harper, in 2008. She filed for divorce from the famous guitarist in 2016, and they finalized the separation five years later.
