Jessica Simpson Throws It Back To 8th Grade In Style For First 2023 Post

Most people start the new year with new resolutions. However, for Jessica Simpson, the New Year is starting with her taking a trip down memory lane.

The 90’s teen idol relived her Junior high school memories to her fans, and some couldn’t help but question how she fit into a clothing item from several decades ago.

In a snap on Instagram, the “The Dukes of Hazzard” actress channeled her cheerleading days as she donned her 8th-grade head cheerleader letter jacket.

The clothing item was green colored and had the idol’s name inscribed in yellow alongside a Richardson North Junior High logo. Simpson paired her coat with an orange-colored beanie, and her makeup was minimal. 

“Found my 8th-grade head cheerleader letter jacket ???” Simpson captioned the post.Leading the comments was her younger sister Ashlee Simpson Ross who cheered, “Yes, go Vikings!”

Seemingly addressing her weight loss, another fan noted, “a tiny jacket still fits.” Another observer couldn’t help but question the singer’s looks. “What’s happened in the past several months??? Something is not right here.”

An avid fan defended the “Employee of the month” actress by writing a lengthy encouraging message. The fan penned, “She looks great here! After reading and knowing the hardships she went through in cheerleading with bullies, this is a beautiful moment. No matter your size, your age, or what the world has said about you, you have always been beautiful and a hero of mine!”

Although Simpson began the new year with a memory from her past, she spent the Christmas period making new memories with her family. Per reports from The Blast, the singer’s family channeled the Christmas period in cute family photos. 

Simpson shared the images of the family bonding moments on her Instagram. In one snap, the multi-hyphenate posed with her youngest child, Birdie. Simpson rocked a gray sweater with red stripes and accessorized with a penguin headband and sunglasses.

Making a statement on her face was her choice of bold red lipstick against a subtle glam.  The following snap on the carousel captured the “I wanna love you forever” hitmaker, her husband Eric Johnson, and little Birdie, all smiling radiantly. More photos on the slideshow showed each member of the family. 

However, one image showed the Texas native in all her glory. She looked stunning in a blue faux-fur coat paired with shiny leather pants and matching black boots. The knee-high combat shoes gave rockstar vibes with their studded design. 

Captioning the post, the “Open Book” author wrote: “Faux-sure feeling festive with my beautiful family in this Holiday Season.” Female fans filled the comments inquiring about Simpson’s lipstick brand, and others had something to say about her weight. 

Recently, the blonde bombshell has gotten a lot of backlash from fans about her weight loss, and some had described her with unsavory names. As previously reported, the fashion mogul shared photos from her vacation, and fans attacked her for her tremendous weight loss.

The philanthropist wore a red parka, oversized shades, and animal-print mittens as she posed with her skiing pole. 

The comments section was filled with several comments about the 42-year-old’s shape. An observer wrote, “I would be so embarrassed if I was skiing with my mom and she wore this. Fabulous look but was so extra and attention-hungry for a family day. IMO obvs.”

Another admirer defended the mom of three against this comment, saying, “who gives a hoot? As long as she can ski and have fun. Wear whatever you want. Dress for yourself, not others. If you’re only embarrassed by what your mom wears while skiing you’re living a pretty blessed life.”

Simpson continued to share more images from her vacation, and fans looked for fault in the snaps. Each photo captured the family having the time of their lives. One picture showed the entrepreneur together with her first daughter, and this image triggered more hurtful comments from netizens. 

One Instagram user wrote, “Omg ? you look like death next to your daughter. Not good, girl. Please get help.”

Amidst the hateful messages, some admirers of the singer had positive things to say.  A netizen praised the “Blonde Ambition” actress for being an inspiration, writing, “The best part about following along with Jessica’s journey since I was a pre-teen has been her growth. She shows her highs and her lows, and she’s been amazing through it all. I looked up to her so much she changed my life in the best ways. Her music. Her voice, her talent, her beauty. I am so happy to see her happy.”
