Former President of the United States, Donald Trump, is having a hard time clearing his name after meeting with Kanye West and Nick Fuentes.
Trump recently hosted a controversial dinner with the rapper and the popular white supremacist. While it triggered criticism from the public and fellow republicans, he revealed that he agreed to meet with them to “help” the rapper.
This meeting came after he previously denied knowing anyone else present at the dinner apart from West. He also referred to West as a “seriously troubled man” and assured that the rumors of collaborating with him were “fake news.”
Following West’s recent antisemitism scandal, Trump also revealed that West made no antisemitic comments during the meeting. He also assured that he simply wanted to “advise” the star who recently announced that he would run for President in 2024.

Donald Trump Calls Kanye West 'Seriously Troubled'
The ex-President hosted the “I Love Kanye” rapper and Fuentes at a Mar-A-Lago dinner on Tuesday, November 22nd. Following the meeting, a Trump commentator revealed according to NBC News, that the dinner had made the former President’s 2024 campaign “a f*cking nightmare.” This comes after Trump announced his intention to run for President again.
However, the 76-year-old disagreed with this and described the meeting as “quick and uneventful.” He also revealed that West, who recently got into trouble for some antisemitic comments, “expressed no antisemitism” during the dinner.
Trump wrote per Fox News, "So I help a seriously troubled man, who just happens to be black, Ye (Kanye West), who has been decimated in his business and virtually everything else, and who has always been good to me, by allowing his request for a meeting at Mar-a-Lago, alone, so that I can give him very much needed ‘advice.’
The ex-President in his attempt to calm the storm, denied knowing Fuentes and slammed "fake news" for going "crazy."
Donald Trump Denied Knowing Nick Fuentes, The White Supremacist
The 45th President previously claimed in a post via Truth Social (per NBC) that apart from West, he had no idea who the other guests who attended the meeting were. However, he admitted to knowing one of them, Karen Giorno, his former campaign director for Florida. About Giorno, Trump noted that she was “a political person who I haven’t seen in years.”
Trump then accused the “Hurricane” rapper of “unexpectedly showing up with three of his friends, whom he knew nothing about.” He then specifically claimed that he “didn’t know Nick Fuentes.” This came after several republicans bashed him for hosting a meeting with the controversial stars.
Republicans Slam Donald Trump
Republican Representative James Comer criticized Trump in a recent statement. He explained to NBC News that the former and now aspiring President needed to “better judge” who he “dined with.” He then noted that he would never agree to a meeting with either West or Fuentes in his position.
Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson also slammed the meeting by calling Trump’s decision “very troubling.” He was also afraid that the meeting could trigger extremists. In a statement to CNN, he explained, “You want to diminish their strength, not empower them. Stay away from them.”
Following the meeting, West, who regained access to his Twitter page last week, took the chance to announce his plans to run for President.
Kanye West Plans To Run For President
West shared a video to his Twitter page on Thanksgiving day announcing that he would run for President in 2024. After announcing his plans, he commented on the dinner with Trump and addressed some reservations about the former President. He revealed that Trump had ill feelings towards him and even insulted his former wife, Kim Kardashian, at the meeting.
The “Monster” singer also compared Trump’s behavior towards him to his interaction with Fuentes. He revealed that Trump was “screaming” at him but was “really impressed” with the political commentator. News outlets like The New York Times also supported this claim by noting that Fuentes and the former President got along well.
According to NYT, the supremacist flattered Trump, as the former President revealed that he understood him. He also reportedly reacted negatively to Kanye’s plan to run for President and explained that it would be “a waste of time.” He then urged voters to support and vote for him instead.
