Trump had previously praised West during an interview, thanking him for the compliments West dished out during a previous podcast appearance. The businessman said he felt “honored” by West’s words and was impressed by how well-spoken and articulated the rapper’s speech was during the interview.
West recently lost millions of dollars and brand deals due to his controversial anti-semitic statements and posts. He tweeted, “First time at Mar-a-Lago Rain and traffic. Can’t believe I kept President Trump waiting And I had on jeans Yikes What you guys think his response was when I asked him to be my running mate in 2024?”
The rapper also added a poll to the tweet to allow his fans to select between two options for what they think Trump responded to his running mate offer. The two options were “That’s very Ye” and “That’s very Nay.”
Donald Trump Previously Praised Kanye West
Trump had previously praised West for the “great things” he said about him during a recent interview with Tucker Carlson. The real estate mogul was discussing with podcast host Chris Stigall, who suggested that West was a “marked man.” Trump questioned if West has truly gotten a “fair shake.”
The former president, whose daughter and son-in-law are Jewish, clarified that he doesn’t know West closely but has always liked and got along with him. Trump also said he was very impressed to hear West during the interview with Carlson because he “was actually very sharp and very, very smart.”
He said per Insider, “He made statements, rough statements, on Jewish. You’ve heard them and you know them well, and they’re saying that was the reason. So then you ask, well, would it have been the same thing if he didn’t say all those good things about Trump? You know, you just don’t know.”
Kanye West Recently Lost Millions Due To His Anti-Semitic Controversy
West has recently lost millions of dollars and several lucrative brand deals due to his anti-semitic controversy. His Twitter account was also banned, and his Instagram account was restricted due to the threatening post he made referring to Sean “Diddy” Combs. In the post, he said, “Ima use you as an example to show the Jewish people that told you to call me that no one can threaten or influence me.”
More scenarios of West’s antisemitism emerged after his initial Twitter rants about “going death con 3” on Jewish people. During an episode of the “Drink Champs” podcast, the “Praise God” rapper also ranted about “being screwed over by the Jewish media.” He reportedly said, “Jewish people have owned the Black voice.”
Donald Trump Commented On The Anti-Semitic Controversy
During his conversation with Stigall, Trump commented on West’s controversies and said West “will be fine” because he’s a “very different kind of guy.” During another interview with radio host Larry O’Connor, the politician and businessman also commented on West’s statements about Jared Kushner, his son-in-law.
According to The Hill, Trump said, “Well, I haven’t really seen the statements he’s made. I did watch the Tucker Carlson interview and he was really nice to me. Beyond anybody, he was he was great to me, and to the MAGA movement, which was really impressive.”
