Tamera Mowry Gushes About Sister Tia Mowry Living Her 'Authentic' Life Following Divorce

Tamera Mowry is speaking on her twin Tia Mowry’s healing following her divorce.

The Mowry sisters rose to stardom through the Disney sitcom “Sister, Sister,” and they went on to star in other movies. Tia married actor Cory Hardrict whom she dated for six years, while Tamera married award-winning journalist Adam Housley. However, last month, Tia confirmed that she and her husband were ending their marriage of 14 years. 

Despite being in this tough phase, Tamera keeps cheering her twin on as she recently declared that Tia is “living her authentic and true self.”

During a recent interview, the former singer spoke about her sister’s healing after the divorce and how she’s been living her life. Tamera recounted a chat she had with Tia to the news outlet. 

“I told her, I said, 'Tia, I'm looking on your Instagram, this is the happiest you've been in a long time. You are glowing!'" Tamera recalled. "'You look different, but In a very positive way!'"

She continued, “I think it's because -- no, I know it's because she is living her authentic, true self, and I think that is what everyone should do. And it's not easy! That's the thing, it's scary."

The “Strong Medicine” actress further expressed her support for her sister. "I told her, 'I'm so proud of you, because you are showing other women -- and hell, even men -- that you walk in your truth, and look what happens. No matter what.” Tamera said before applauding her sister’s upfront during the whole divorce struggle. Tamera praised her twin, saying she is “very, very strong and inspiring."

This interview comes after the “Twitches” actress protected her sister and subtly told people not to question her sister’s divorce. As published by The Blast, the 44-year-old appeared on an episode of “Today with Hoda & Jenna” where she politely shut down a question on her sister’s divorce. 

The conversation started by focusing on the actress’s new memoir, “You Should Sit Down For This.” However, when one of the hosts veered off topic and tried to pry information concerning her twin’s divorce, Tamera had a suitable response. 

“I support her. So whatever she wants, the Mowrys’ have her back. I love her dearly. She is strong,” the 44-year-old declared before subtly hinting that the hosts should not pry information from her.

“The Real” co-host added, “but I know right now she just kind of just wants to, you know, just kind of process it all, take it all in, and be a little private about that. As a sister, you know, I’m just going to respect that.”

Almost eight weeks after the cookbook author announced the divorce, she claimed she was settling into her new normal. 

As previously reported, Mowry took to her Instagram feed to showcase her morning routine, which began with picking up an affirmation card. From there, she stepped into the shower, washed her hair, and shaved her legs.

Once done, she walked into her massive wardrobe to change into an orange sweatsuit combo, styled her hair, and made a cup of tea. Mowry carried her cup onto the pool area where she worked. She was joined by her baby girl, Cairo, who allowed her mother to kiss her cheek. The video ended with the actress smiling, relishing her new life. 

Alongside the clip, she penned a lengthy caption expressing how this routine helped her feel more grounded navigating through a new chapter. The caption partly read, “With new chapters comes anxiety, uncertainty, and fear. Having a routine helps me clear my mind and hit the reset button.”

Many supportive fans took to the comments to applaud her for choosing herself despite society’s demands. One pinned response read, “I admire your strength and how you take care of you! Thank you for sharing and helping so many of us on [our] own journeys.”
