Actress Nina Dobrev and her boyfriend Shaun White pulled out all the stops for their “Stranger Things” inspired Halloween costumes.
On Monday morning, the two shared a look at their costumes, based on the hit Netflix series. While the retired Olympic snowboarder went as Max, “The Vampire Diaries” alum couldn’t resist dressing up as Vecna, creating a truly terrifying scene!

In one Instagram video, set to the tune of Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God),” Shaun White shows off his Max Halloween costume while Nina Dobrev is dressed as Vecna. Shaun twitches around for a little before falling face forward onto the floor. Nina then pulls off her mask and laughs. “happy halloween 😂,” she wrote in the caption.
One follower commented, “And the Oscar goes to… 😂.” Another follower joked, “I didn’t know that Max had mustache 😂😂.” A third fan exclaimed, “LMFAOOOOOOO THIS IS SICK.” Another follower called them the “best and funniest couple” while other followers were surprised that they were “Stranger Things” fans.
Shaun White Misses His Long Hair!
In another Instagram post, the Whitespace active lifestyle brand founder shared a close-up look at his outfit, complete with red face paint to make it look like blood is dripping from his eyes.
“Going as Max from Stranger Things this Halloween. Not gonna lie I’ve miss the long hair 😂,” he wrote in the caption.
Now that he’s retired, plenty of fans were eager to see him bring back the long hair. “Bring it back!!!🔥,” one fan wrote. “BACK WITH THE LONG HAIR SHAUNNNNNN,” another follower commented. “Grow it before you can’t! Hahaha,” a third fan teased.

The “Degrassi: The Next Generation” actress also shared a look at her costume, which included long red nails and a latex Vecna mask with tentacles that ran down over her shoulders. She completed the look with a one-piece bodysuit that even covered her feet.

The couple first met at an event hosted by motivational speaker Tony Robbins in 2019. They moved in together at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown in 2020 and the two have been going strong ever since!
