Rapper Flavor Flav Celebrates Two Years Sober In Emotional Post

William Jonathan Drayton Jr., also known as rapper Flavor Flav, has had a rough past with drugs and alcohol.

The good news is the 63-year-old got the help he needed and has just celebrated two years of sobriety.

On Wednesday, the 63-year-old rapper took to social media to announce that he has officially reached two years of sobriety.

"Today is October 19. Guess what? I am two years no cigarettes, two years no alcohol. And you know what? I feel real good y'all, just to let you know." he said in an Instagram video posted to his page. "I'm gonna do this another maybe 22 more years, I don't know. But right now I'm working on one year at a time, folks."

He added, "And I don't care what nobody says, but I look good. Still sober baby!"

The rapper captioned the video, "FLAVOR FLAV::: two years of sobriety y’all,, I am very proud of myself,, I just had to let everybody know it I’m proud of me.'

Many supporters took to his Instagram to share their love for the rapper, including rapper Warren G who said, "Keep up the good work homeboy congratulations."

Pro boxer Nico Ali Walsh chimed in, "you got 30 years younger too!!????."

Another fan wrote, "Super proud of you. Continue to do what you're doing one year at a time ??. And looking younger too, proud of ya Flav."

It’s been a long road to sobriety for the rapper. In 1991, Flavor Flav pleaded guilty to assaulting his then-girlfriend Karen Ross and served 30 days in jail, as well as lost custody of their three children, which is what led him to spiral into addiction.

Two years later, he was then charged with attempted murder and imprisoned for 90 days for shooting at his neighbor. And just a few months after that, he was hit with domestic violence, cocaine and marijuana charges.

13 years ago, Flavor Flav recognized he had a problem and stopped using hard drugs. He has also laid off the alcohol, having just celebrated two years sober.

The American rapper visited the Most Magical Place on Earth earlier this month to see and do everything the theme parks had to offer. On October 11, Flavor Flav was spotted at Magic Kingdom in Orlando, Florida, hanging out with some Disney characters.

“Flavor Flav here up in the house, with Mickey and Minnie, the famous mouse,” he said in a video posted to social media. “Now this TikTok goes out to every boy and girl. This is Flavor Flav at Disney World!”

Of course, he had to end it with his iconic line — “Yeah, boyeeeeee!” — followed by, “with Mickey and Minnie!” He then stopped to pose for a picture with Mickey and Minnie, showing off his bling.

Flavor Flav also posted the video of him meeting Mickey and Minnie to Instagram along with the caption, “FLAVOR FLAV::: at Disney World with Mickey and Minnie mouse in da house : Um still a big Kidd y’all,,??‍♂️.”
