Kaling Is Celebrating The Show's 10 Year Anniversary

"This Sunday marks the 10 year (!!!) anniversary of the premiere of The Mindy Project," she started the caption. "I love this show so much. The cast, crew and writers room remain some of my favorite and most important people in my life today." Her caption went on to explain her thoughts behind the show she created. "I wanted to play a woman who was basically a good person, but also very insane, and had tons of stuff she needed to work on. Coming from The Office, I wanted the show to be packed with jokes, but also, like You've Got Mail or When Harry Met Sally, really romantic and made you want to live in New York City."

The actress and writer continued her caption explaining her wardrobe choices on the show. "In addition, I wanted to wear head-to-toe amazing designer fits even though I wasn't (and still am not) a size 2," she said. "I think we accomplished that!" She also explained that it was "the most fun six years (117 episodes!) of my life!" To honor the fun years filming the series, Kaling said she will be sharing some of her favorite scenes from the show all week and wants to hear from fans as well. "And...I want to see YOUR favorite scenes from the show, so comment them below or share and tag me, and let's see if we can compile them for later this week!," she finished her caption.

"One of the greatest joys of being on The Mindy Project was acting with my dear friend @ikebarinholtz. He’s one of the funniest people alive and I can’t think of a more loved person on set," she wrote. "So few actors are such committed artists that they can completely expel all vanity to be funny and he is one of those people. He is just the real deal in every way and I love him so much. I’ve spent so many hours on studio stages with Ike and I hope to spend many thousands more. What’s your favorite Morgan moment from @mindyprojecthulu?"
