The episode, which aired Thursday night, featured a contestant named Adam Goodell who scored $2,450 after he shouted out the correct answer for the round, “Brushing up on my Italian Sausage.”
Of course, fans of the show were in disbelief the show allowed this phrase to make the air…and took to social media to let their voices be heard.
Even the show’s host Pat Sajak released the answer was a bit much and said to the crowd, “Uh…it’s a grilling expression.”
“‘Brushing up on my Italian sausage’ may be one of the most lurid-sounding #WheelofFortune puzzles ever,” one fan of show said on Twitter.
Another said, “Bruh what intern must made the puzzle ‘brushing up on my Italian sausage’ I’m dead.”
“Come on #WheelOfFortune this is supposed to be a family show!” one more fan pointed out. Another added, “So apparently the solution to a puzzle on Wheel of Fortune yesterday was “Brushing Up On My Italian Sausage” … and I think the jokes write themselves ???”

A few fans of the show responded with the obvious point that it was not supposed to be sexy in any way, and it’s the dirty minds of fans that it making it an issue.
“Why so petty? Everyone who watches Wheel should know how the “Before and After” works! Brushing up on my Italian – Italian Sausage. For crying out loud! Family Feud makes way more sexual references daily,” one person tweeted.

The clip of the reveal went viral almost immediately with people dubbing the moment in the show, “kinky.”
Obviously, this is not the first time something like this has happened. In fact, the show found itself in a similar situation last month when a contestant was trying to solve the puzzle, ‘_NG _A‘ and blurted out “Chasing Tail!”
The person realized that couldn’t be the case, and quickly said, “No” but the time had run out.
The real answer turned out to be “Kicking Back.” We almost had it!
