Actress Lena Dunham just posted dazzling pictures of herself in all her bathing suit glory. The Emmy and Golden award-winning actress and writer is known for her performance in the popular HBO tv series “Girls.”
The star previously spoke out concerning some negative comments and unappreciated jokes about her body and weight. At the time, she revealed that she was going through some health issues and addiction, which was the root of her varying body size.
In a recent post, Dunham bared it all in several different colored bathing suits. Each outfit was matched with minimal accessories, and several followers wasted no time trooping to her comments to appreciate her outfit.
Lena Dunham Posted In Bathing Suits

“Girls” creator Dunham recently modeled several bathing suits off her collection in sun-drenched photos on Instagram. The 36-year-old posted the images on Instagram on Thursday, showing off some skin in a black one-piece, as well as green, mustard yellow, and lavender two-piece bikinis, all paired with basic accessories.
The first picture saw the actress on her black one-piece, which she flaunted with a gold neckpiece, dazzling green sandals and a circular wicker bag. The post was captioned, “One piece two piece red piece blue piece.”
Several fans of the writer trooped to her comment section to hype her up and send out encouraging comments. Some simply wrote “Love u!!!!,” while others posted more detailed messages. I wish I had your confidence.. I look at you and think.. Beautiful! But then I look at myself and can’t help but hide everything.. You are a role model,” a fan wrote.
Lena Dunham Slammed Body Shamers

In October last year, Dunham called out several body shamers on her Instagram page for their insensitive and negative comments on her body. She opened up about how her body had changed over the years and said she didn’t find the jokes about her size and weight gain funny.
In a candid post to her followers, the 36-year-old wrote, “Firstly ‘did Lena eat the cast of ‘Girls” just isn’t a very good joke. I could punch that up for the Tweeter. Secondly, it’s ironic to have my body compared to a body that was also the object of public scorn—an echo chamber of body shaming. But lastly, when will we learn to stop equating thinness with health/happiness?”
Dunham continued her vent, admitting that while weight loss could be due to a positive habit change, “so can weight gain.” She disclosed that at the time, she was going through some addiction and issues with her health.
The actress continued, “The pics I’m being compared to are from when I was in active addiction with an undiagnosed illness. In the four years since, I’ve gotten sober and begun my life as someone who aspires toward health and not just achievement.”
She Is Speaking Out To Help Others

Further on in her post, Dunham encouraged people who had undergone changes in their appearance due to specific reasons to live in their body as though it wasn’t “transitional.” “I am, and I’m really enjoying it. Love you all,” she said.
The actress’s Instagram snapshots revealed several tattoos on her skin which she said gave her “a sense of control and ownership of a body that’s often beyond my control.” Dunham was previously diagnosed and is currently struggling with endometriosis.
Some of her tattoos include a picture of a rose, Ferdinand the Bull, and a photo of Eloise and the first female skateboarder, Laura Thornhill. When asked about the one tattoo she regretted, the 36-year-old declared that her least favorite was an illustration of a children’s book by a “drunk guy.” “I should get it covered up.”
Lena Dunham Learned To Appreciate Her Body

In a candid post in 2020, Dunham opened up to her fans about how she struggled with her body growing up and her eventual acceptance and appreciation of it.
The post was captioned, “You know I’ve been thinking a lot about my pot belly in quarantine… Growing up chubby, fat, thicc, whatever you wanna call it – I always felt my body was a sign that read ‘I’m lazy and I have done less’ Like if I just found the will to invest 30 percent more, I could be okay.”
The Emmy winner revealed that as the years went by, her body continued to guide her through her career, past various illnesses and disabilities, and she finally began to appreciate “what it was capable of.”
