Music sensation Lizzo is putting her money where her mouth is and donating $1 million in collaboration with Live Nation to support Planned Parenthood. The artist is set to kick off her tour for her upcoming album, "Special," on September 23 and end it on November 18.

The Supreme Court recently ruled against abortion rights, introducing new restrictions to states who accommodate the act. The decision was a total overturning 50-year-old Roe v. Wade decision to protect the choices of pregnant women who want to get an abortion.

Several celebrities, as well as Lizzo, expressed their displeasure concerning the decision. The singer pledged $500,000 from the proceedings of her tour for the cause. She also encouraged her fans to do the same and sign a petition against the ban.

"If you want to help them take action, go to LizzoLovesYou.com to find a way to sign the bans off our bodies petition and also find out ways to volunteer," she said. "This is just the beginning of the action that I hope to take to help people have safe planning for families and own their own bodies."

Following the Supreme Court's verdict on abortion, several mayors across the US have started speaking out against the decision and made it known that their cities were safe-havens. Via USA TODAY, an open letter by the lawmakers asked President Joe Biden "to use any and all executive authorities to address the public health crisis our nation will face if Roe v Wade is dismantled."

The President then addressed the country and promised that he would use all their appropriate powers to ensure that Americans had the right to travel across the state lines to access legal abortions. His administration would also work to provide access to contraception as well as FDA-approved abortion medications.

While addressing the country, he said, "This decision must not be the final word. My administration will use all of its appropriate lawful powers, but Congress must act. With your vote, you can act; you can have the final word. This is not over."
