This is as good of a time as any for former 'Bachelorette' Katie Thurston to be listening to a lot of Taylor Swift songs.

Unfortunately, Thurston and her beau John Hersey, whom she announced she had been dating through an Instagram story count down featuring songs from Swift's "Red (Taylor's Version)," are no longer together.

The former couple, who had been together since last Fall, both announced their break-up on social media. Thurston's Insta-story message was a bit more blunt than her ex-boyfriend's statement.

Thurston kept her announcement light. She shared, "statement: no we aren't together." (via People)

What Went Wrong?

The couple's love story unfolded amid a chaotic period in Thurston's life.

After a two-month engagement to Blake Moynes after the pair fell for one another during her season of "The Bachelorette," Thurston and Moynes decided to call off their engagement.

Despite a whirlwind break-up, Thurston attempted to address all of the inquiring minds in Bachelor Nation by explaining, "People have questioned, like, the authenticity of the love and the relationship and for those people passing judgment, like, I can only hope to be so lucky as you to find a forever love on the first time, you know?" Sadly, true love didn't happen for Thurston on her third trip around the Bachelor Nation sun; we were first introduced to her when she competed to win Matt James' heart on "The Bachelor."

Hersey, 28, gave fans a bit more detail in his statement.

"As Katie stated earlier, we are no longer dating," he shared. "The decision was not made lightly and it was obviously not an easy one to make."

Thurston, for her part, took some special care in order to make sure she could embark on the road to healing as fully and committed as possible.

According to Us Weekly, the 31-year-old intentionally took a month off of social media.

Her message addressing her return to Instagram did not mention Hersey. Instead, she focused on the travels she took and "most importantly, myself," she wrote in the post's caption.

Focusing on all of life's moments was also an element Hersey addressed in his break-up message.

The rest of his statement read, "I love being able to share special moments with you all- the funny ones. the happy ones. The outrageous, embarrassing, and heartfelt moments. But I don't know if it will ever get easier to share the sad ones. I appreciate every one of you that has supported us throughout this journey. We could not (and would not) be here without you."

Onward: How Thurston Is Moving Forward

Navigating a split while in the public eye is never easy, and Thurston has already begun the process.

According to People, Thurston chose to share some words of wisdom with her followers after revealing she and Hersey had called it quits.

She shared an Instagram photo set, originally shared by an account called We The Urban. A sampling of the photo set included a reminder that could easily apply to Thurston's journey of navigating her second extremely public break-up in less than a year.

The graphic read, "Whether you are doing good or bad, people are always going to talk, so you might as well keep doing you and focusing on what is in your control."

And, of course, a little Taylor Swift listening session never hurts.

Thurston memorably sparked some chatter among Bachelor Nation last winter when she cheekily shared her thoughts on many of the contestants on her season of "The Bachelorette." The photo set had been called "The 12 Days Of Messy," and its goal was to reveal her and Hersey's relationship with the aforementioned help of songs from Swift's then newly-released "Red (Taylor's Version)."

"You start to think about timelines," Thurston's ex-fiance Moynes said at the time as per People,  "I know they spent a lot of time together and stuff, but there's just no way, I didn't have an inkling."
