In a world where we see remakes, reboots, and sequels all the time, it looks like there is another TV classic that will be joining the list.
While with Fox 5 New York’s Rosanna Scotto, Tony Danza talked about the chances of a ‘Who’s The Boss?’ reboot, or as Danza would like to call it, a sequel.
Tony Danza Talks About The Future Of ‘Who’s The Boss?’
Sometimes reboots and sequels work and some reboots and sequels are complete disasters. Though some iconic TV shows and films should never be touched, there is always a select amount of shows or movies to revisit. And that is why everyone who is clamoring for a continuation of the ‘Who’s The Boss?’ series should get excited.
Danza who starred with Alyssa Milano, Judith Light, Danny Pintauro and the unforgettable Katherine Helmond, who played the man-crazed mother, Mona joined Danza’s Tony Micelli, a retired baseball player who becomes the housekeeper of Light’s character, Angela Bower. They all helped and came together to raise Bower’s kids to endless hilarity for eight fun-filled seasons. And now it looks like, a return to some of the characters is imminent.
Danza talked to Fox 5 New York more on the situation stating that a sequel of the series was coming and not to call it a reboot as Danza exclaimed, ”Because I don’t think you should do every show in a reboot, you know. The only reason, by the way, you know why they do reboots right? You know that, the only reason why they do this is that they can’t promote them, they can’t promote a new show, how do you launch a new show with all this fragmentation, so you have to have something that people recognize, so, I’m… I’m… listen I am still waiting to see what happens with the sequel to ‘Who’s The Boss? It’s more, it’s not a reboot.”
But is there any announcement of a date for the series to return, not quite yet as Danza continued and talked about the status saying, ”No, no, we are just waiting for the writers to you know, write!” And added who was going to be a part of the show, saying Milano would be more a part of the show than Light finishing off his statement on the situation confirming about Light, ‘She is going to be a small part of it but it is more Alyssa and myself.”
Speaking of Milano, she has dished about the upcoming series herself and the excitement that she has for it.
Alyssa Milano Dishes Plot Details On Upcoming ‘Who’s The Boss?’ Series
Milano who was on the The Drew Barrymore Show back in October of 2021 revealed some plot ideas and shared her excitement for the upcoming ‘Who’s The Boss?’ series saying, “I’m really excited for what we can do with this potential reboot, it’s really exciting. It’s I think going to be about you know, that my husband leaves me. I have my own career and he (Danza) comes to take care of my kids.”
And as simple as that, the fans are ready, the cast is ready, so as they say, the sooner the better to get it off the ground would be best because this could be something that comes back that actually works. And with this reboot and or sequel, however you want to approach it or call it that was first announced in August 2020, might take a little longer before the new show gets off the ground but we are at least closer than ever to seeing it become reality. So here’s to it all coming soon for us all to stream and enjoy!
