U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris tested positive for COVID, and her devoted husband, Douglas Emhoff, updated the world on how she has been faring.

Harris and Emhoff have been married for nearly eight years, since August 2014. In addition, the attorney's union with the first female VP makes him the first 'second gentleman' in American history.

The multi-racial American's diagnosis has not stopped her from carrying on with her official duties, as her spouse shared a recent post showing she was hale and hearty.

"Thanks to everyone who sent well wishes for @VP," Emhoff wrote on Twitter. "She is feeling good and is working from home."

Under the message, the Jewish notary uploaded a snap of Harris beaming at the camera and working at her desk.

She appeared to be in the middle of a task as she was holding a pen and opening a file while several stationeries were arranged on her desk.

Fans of the U.S. official were glad she was feeling well and expressed their relief in seeing her in good shape.

Some wished her a speedy recovery while sending her love and prayers. Others advised her to take care of herself and thanked her loving spouse for sharing the news.

In a recent report by PEOPLE, Harris' representative announced that the 57-year-old had tested positive for COVID-19 but had not shown any symptoms.

The spokesperson also revealed that the Howard University alum would continue to work from her residence at the Naval Observatory and follow the proper COVID guidelines as directed by physicians.

Harris would return to the White House once she gets tested negative, and since her diagnosis, she had not been in close proximity to President Joe Biden or First Lady Dr. Jill Biden.

With other distinguished government officials, the female politician and the president were vaccinated against COVID. Harris also got a booster shot, which significantly reduced her risk of severe ailment, hospitalization, or death.

Even with the precautions taken by the White House administration, the virus' contagiousness has never drifted too far as various associates continued to test positive.

This has caused irregular commotions to the West Wing, plus the return of the major Washington D.C. events have also been speculated to be another reason for some conditions.

For instance, a couple of positive cases were connected to the Gridiron Dinner that took place earlier this month.

On another occasion, the annual White House Correspondents' Association dinner would be coming up during the weekend, and President Biden with other notable officials are expected to attend.

It should be noted that the yearly dinner would be returning "with restrictions" after being canceled for two years due to the pandemic.

Regarding the positive cases in the White House, the White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, who has been tested positive twice for COVID, shared news on the president's status with the virus.

She said, "He has access to the best healthcare and medical care in the world. They have assessed the risk is worth him going out and traveling this week in the country."

Psaki added, "They have assessed, and we know that he can be president wherever he is. That is what the United States prepares any president for."

She further confirmed that Biden had been administered a second vaccine booster last month while promising that the "administration would be candid should he test positive."

The 49th U.S. Vice President Backs President Biden In Controversial Interview

As the vice president of the United States, Harris has the best interest of its citizens at heart and the president in every situation.

Last year, The Blast reported that she shut down a reportedly absurd question directed towards Biden in an interview with Charlamagne Tha God.

During the discussion, the host randomly asked, "I want to know who the real president of this country is – is it Joe Biden or Joe Manchin?"

The question did not sit well with the former U.S. senator as she wasted no time in slamming Charlamagne.

She responded with a disappointed tone, "C'mon Charlamagne, no, no, no, no, it's Joe Biden. And don't start talking like a Republican about asking whether or not he's president."

The highest-ranking female U.S. official went on to ensure the host had no doubts about who was in charge as she insisted, "It's Joe Biden, it's Joe Biden, and I'm vice president, and my name is Kamala Harris."
