On Sunday, April 17, Kaling updated her Instagram page with a heartwarming image showing her walking down a road with her offspring amid the Easter celebrations.
The photo showed the back of the “Never Have I Ever” writer, who carried Spencer on one arm and held Katherine with her other hand.
The loving mom matched cherry dresses and white footwear with her daughter. She could not help but joke about their outfit while highlighting the impact of Easter on her Hindu household. She wrote:
“Even my Hindu family is in awe of the power of Easter! Also, it’s one of the only times it’s socially acceptable to match clothes with your kids, which, as you can see, I did. Happy Easter and lots of love to everyone!”
The Blast disclosed that Kaling’s daughter was happy to see someone of her mother’s color represented in the presidential inauguration last year.
“The Office” star is a close friend and supporter of Vice President Kamala Haris, who is also an Indian-American whose parents moved to the United States to start a new life chapter.

In celebration of the Biden-Harris win and the inauguration, Kaling took to her Instagram page to share a touching statement her daughter made while watching the procession.
The “Sex Lives of College Girls” creator uploaded a photo of Katherine watching Harris speaking at the ceremony and captioned it, “Crying and holding my daughter, ‘look, baby, she looks like us.'”
Kaling protected her daughter’s privacy in the image. She recounted that she was at work when she was informed that her daughter asked if Harris was her mother because they look alike.
The proud mother gushed, “Best compliment I ever got! It matters. Happy Inauguration, everyone.”
A fan gushed, “Tears running down my face. What a beautiful day for women everywhere. I can’t wait to tell my pandemic baby all the incredible things that also happened the year she was born. Madame Vice President. Remarkable. ?????”!
One of Kaling’s friends also commented, “Yesss Min! We are crying here in Cambridge out of happiness! Also, I will happily vote for you in like twenty years.”

Kaling was noticeably slimmer at the 2022 Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty in March. She spoke to ET about being more conscious about what she eats following the birth of Spencer in 2020.
The “Why Not Me?” author decided to become more aware of what she consumes after welcoming her second child in September 2020.
The star explained that she had her son during the pandemic where she had no appearances, while Katherine was born in December 2017 when she had a movie two months later and had to be food conscious.
When restrictions began to ease, Kaling realized that her comfortable lifestyle during the COVID outbreak was not sustainable with the career she had. She explained:
“When the world started coming back a little bit, I thought, ‘This kind of eating what appears, not taking any consideration for what I’m eating, is probably not the way to go.”
The “Mindy Project” alum also joked that her children were surprised to see her getting glammed up after the pandemic instead of her usual house clothes. She said:
“[My kids] normally think of their mom and, ‘Oh, the slob that writes on her computer all day.’ But when I had to get ready for all of these events, [to] my daughter I was like Elsa from ‘Frozen. I became completely transformed, and she treated me completely differently. She was in awe.”
The “Nothing Like I Imagined” creator takes pride in wowing her daughter with her looks while she is at an age where she can be impressed by them.
