Lizzo has made history on "Saturday Night Live!"
Melissa Viviane Jefferson, best known by her stage name Lizzo, has achieved worldwide recognition for her remarkable range as a singer, rapper, songwriter, and flutist.
Now, the 33-year-old Detroit native has added comedian to her impressive list of achievements as she set the bar high while hosting "SNL" over the weekend.
Lizzo Flaunts Her Skills As A Comedian While Playfully Clearing Up Chris Evans Rumors
On April 16, the body-positivity advocate took the stage in all her glory as she walked out to the sound of hearty cheers in a bold blue dress and sparkling fringe-covered shawl.
The "Truth Hurts" singer made her hosting debut with the energy of a seasoned stand-up comedian mixed with her signature risqué charm, blowing the audience away with jokes about her personal life.
The brown-skinned beauty began her opening monologue with a joke about her attire, "My name is Lizzo and, yes, I'm shocked I have clothes on too."
The songwriter continued, "I'm really excited. Tonight, we're going to make history! That's right, we're going to break the record for the amount of time 'b**ch' is said on live TV!"
Although she planned on breaking her cussing record, the 33-year-old confessed that she disliked using foul language in front of her mother, who the Detroit native pointed out from the cheering crowd.
Nonetheless, the three-time Grammy Award winner wanted viewers to know that she had a serious side, reflecting on the Ted Talk she gave last year.
"It was very serious stuff. It was about twerking. Google it," she joked, "It was actually about the history of twerking and how it comes from West African dances like mapouka."
"Yeah, I'm deeper than you thought, right? I've got brains and booty," the flutist said before finally addressing the burning question on fans' minds, her relationship with Chris Evans.
When it came to the "Juice" songstress's love life, there have been various rumors about different men, including the beloved Captain America.

The Billboard chart-topper said, "I read a lot online that I'm dating every little white boy in Hollywood. They think I'm collecting members of one direction like infinity stones. I even heard a rumor that I'm pregnant with Chris Evans' baby."
Trying to discuss the source of the speculations, the singer joked, "I have no idea where that one started. It could be the TikTok where I said, 'I am pregnant with Chris Evans' baby." She then quipped, "It's called manifesting, OK!"
Romantic rumors aside, Lizzo made history as the first female "SNL" host to introduce herself as the night's musical highlight.
In the "Hustlers" actress's words, "I'm thrilled to be hosting this particular episode, especially because I do love tonight's musical guest: Me!"
However, it was not much of a surprise as The Blast previously revealed in March that the "Fitness" artist would be working double duty as the host and musical guest on "SNL."
The news came via the comedy showrunners, who shared the hosting line-up for April, starting with the comedian Jerrod Carmichael as host for the April 2 show, while Gunna served as the episode's musical guest.
For April 9, Hollywood heartthrob Jake Gyllenhaal took up the hosting duties alongside the songstress Camilla Cabello, who recently released a new album "Familia."

The "Hustlers" star shared a picture of her famous backside donning white Yitty underwear alongside a tattoo of the brand's name on her glorious asset.
Lizzo sported several beaded bracelets and beautiful Yitty-inspired nails. Although her face was not captured in the image, the chart-topper's black hair could be seen touching her backside.
As shared in the caption, it took five years to make the "Phone" singer's shapewear dream a reality, a brand solely made for women of all sizes from "6X to Xs."
In the official press release, Yitty was described as a "space for women to celebrate their curves, accentuate their beauty and be unapologetically themselves, no matter their shape or size."
