'Love Is Blind' Danielle Ruhl Alleges Producers Did Not Let Her Eat Or Drink For Days

“Love Is Blind” season 2 contestant Danielle Ruhl has been open about her mental health struggles on Instagram.

She has also been extremely open about the fact that she feels the show has painted her as a “character” and used her mental health against her.

She briefly made a startling new revelation about her time on the show in an Instagram Stories that fans are calling into question.

In a shocking message posted to her Instagram Story, the reality star made a pretty serious allegation against “Love Is Blind” producers.

“Just one more thing bc it’s hard getting this off my mind and Idk what I’m allowed to do anymore…” she began.

“There were 2 days they stopped giving Nick and I water and food in Mexico (We snuck to a neighbors through the swim up pool to get some),” she alleged.

“Me and Nick begged to leave Mexico bc of how bad everything was,” she continued. “I was so sick I was coughing up blood but wasn’t able to see a doctor.”

“Everyone made me believe that I should hate myself, and I didn’t, until they engraved it in my brain,” Ruhl added. “So watching what ur seeing is many ppl being tortured to fit a narrative preconceived.”

Not being given food or water? Coughing up blood and not being allowed to see a doctor? A lot of those allegations are pretty alarming if they are true. Although “Love Is Blind” producers have yet to respond, fans have been taking to social media to give their own take on the events.

A screenshot of the message was reposted to a Reddit page where fans hotly debated whether or not the allegations were plausible. Although no one really knows what happened in Mexico, many fans felt that it was extremely unlikely that producers would withhold food and drink from contestants on purpose.

“This seems very dramatized,” one user wrote.

“Yeah idk how true it is, but I do know for a fact that there were several days where they were confined to their rooms due to COVID exposures (this was filmed in early May of 2021),” another user replied. “So they certainly could have been deprived of food. Shaina's dad also posted that they were sleep deprived and encouraged to drink alcohol so I wouldn't be shocked.”

“I feel like this is a skewed opinion of what happened,” another added.

“Coughing up blood is very serious and would require hospitalization,” another user pointed out. “Cancer, pneumonia, tuberculosis would need to be ruled out. I don’t believe that she was coughing up blood. Unless, she was coughing so much there was a little blood from a raw throat, but that’s a far cry from coughing up blood.”

Another user linked to the all-inclusive Grand Velas resort in Riviera Maya Mexico, where they were staying. “It's an all-inclusive resort where all of the restaurants and bars (except for certain drinks) are included in your room rate,” the user explained. “There is ABSOLUTELY no reason they could not get food or water.”

Other fans pointed out that, although Danielle alleges that she and Nick were forced to stay, producers seemingly let season 2 contestant Shaina Hurley leave the resort in Mexico after the first night after she decided to call off her engagement with Kyle Abrams.

Although Danielle did get sick in Mexico, there was a scene showing her lying on the bathroom floor picking at a slice of bread, so fans are calling into question her claims that she was not allowed to leave the hotel and that she was not given any food or water.

Danielle has been open about her mental health struggles on Instagram before, but fans are starting to become really concerned about these new allegations.

“She might be a little bit more mentally unwell than I originally thought,” one user wrote. “The line about ‘everyone made me believe I should hate myself and engraved it in my brain’ is concerning. I’m not gonna armchair diagnose her but I have my theory. I hope she gets the help she needs.”
