“Love Is Blind” contestant Shaina Hurley is engaged!

She actually became engaged during season 2 of the show, after accepting a proposal from Kyle Abrams. However, the couple soon came to a crossroads when Shaina decided she couldn’t get past their religious differences. She was a devout Christian whereas Kyle was an atheist.

After leaving him after their first night on their honeymoon in Mexico, Shaina decided to give it another try and had him meet her family. However, after her family’s frosty reception, the two called it quits and have since parted ways.

It’s been almost one year since season 2 of the Netflix reality dating show finished filming and although Shaina didn’t find love with Kyle, it seems she did manage to find it with someone else.

After the finale, fans were dying to know if Kyle had heard from Shaina at all since they called it quits, especially considering that there were rumors surfacing that Shaina had hooked up with Shayne Jansen. Despite him teasing their “special bond” in an Instagram post shortly before the reunion, Kyle told Us Weekly that he had not spoken to Shaina at all since they broke up.

“We don’t really talk,” Kyle said. “We don’t communicate. There’s nothing left. I mean, we’re not friends or anything. She doesn’t come out much. That ship has sailed.”

“I thought I was giving in a lot,” Kyle added, referring to their religious differences. “Those are things that [with] normal dating, I would’ve written her off right away, the first time I gave in. So I thought maybe she would – she should – too. I thought it was a mutual thing, but I guess not.”

He also explained his reasoning for trying to work things out in Chicago, even when she had bailed on him in Mexico.

“I didn’t wanna quit,” he explained. “I wanted to give everything I had. I didn’t want any regrets of just ending it to end it. And plus, I was following through with the process, you know, that’s kind of what they told us in the beginning – ‘Don’t quit too early, use your allotted time, you have this time to figure it all out.’ And I did everything I could do.”

“Love Is Blind” season 2 and the polarizing cast reunion are currently available to stream on Netflix.
