Bella Hadid is following in her older sister’s footsteps, and lending a helping hand to the ongoing Ukraine-Russia war.
Days after sister Gigi Hadid pledged to donate her earnings to victims of the war, Bella has made a similar pledge, and fans are super proud of the generous siblings.
Gigi Hadid Donates Earnings From Shows To Ukraine
As The Blast reported, Gigi took to Instagram on March 6 to make the special announcement about her financial commitment to the people affected by the war in Ukraine as well as other victims in Palestine.
She wrote, “Having a set Fashion Month schedule has meant that my colleagues and I often present new fashion collections during heartbreaking and traumatic times in history. We don’t have control over most of our work schedules, but we would like to walk ‘for’ something.”
Alongside the carousel of photos showing her modeling numerous pieces from the fashion shows, Gigi revealed she was inspired to make a pledge by Argentine model, Mica Argañaraz.
She then announced her pledge to donate all her earnings from the Fall 2022 shows “to aid those suffering from the war in Ukraine, as well as continuing to support those experiencing the same in Palestine.”
The 26-year-old urged that people’s “eyes and hearts” be open to all human injustice before praying for unity “beyond politics, beyond race, and beyond religion.”
She noted that at the end of the day, innocent lives were the ones who suffered not the leaders before signing off, “HANDS OFF UKRAINE, HANDS OFF PALESTINE. PEACE, PEACE, PEACE.”

In the second slide of the stacked post, Bella highlighted some of the brands & shows she has walked for so far. Some famous brands mentioned include, Michael Kors, Fendi, Moschino, Vivienne Westwood, and Versace, amongst others.
Bella began the accompanying lengthy caption, writing, “To watch my Ukrainian friends and colleagues working hard here in Europe, so close but so far from their families/friends/homes in Ukraine who are experiencing one of many brutal occupations and invasions happening right now in the world is a very emotional and humbling experience for me.”
Supporting her sister’s sentiment, Bella explained that as models they rarely have control over this work schedule and this week has shown her “the strength and perseverance” of those around her enduring such “pure terror.”
Bella explained that hearing their heartbreaking stories have devastated her and she fully stands with them in support.
”I stand along side every person that has been affected by this war and the innocent people whose lives have been changed forever from the hands of ‘power,’” she declared.
Giving credit to her “amazing sis” and Argañaraz for inspiring her, the 25-year-old pledged all her earnings from the Fashion Week to organizations proving refuge and medical aid to those in Ukraine. The donation would also offer support to those suffering in Palestine.
Bella shared a quote from her sister’s initial Instagram post and uploaded flags of the different countries worldwide dealing with the woes of war.
Fans and colleagues lauded Bella in the comments section for her generosity.
One fan wrote, “amen. Love you women! Peace, love and forgiveness to prevail in all of us,” while another added, “I love your humanity.”
The Sisters Mourned The Death Of A Loved One
The sisters’ heartwarming donations comes a month after they suffered a devastating loss. As we covered, Gigi and Bella lost their aunt, Ghada in January.

Ghada, who passed away in Washington D.C. after a heart attack, was their dad Mohamed Hadid’s sister. Before her demise, Ghada was diagnosed with COVID-19 and pneumonia which landed her in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
A heartbroken Mohamed first broke the news on social media, detailing Ghada’s legacy and praying for her soul.
Gigi then took to her Instagram story sharing several photos of her late aunt and writing, “May out auntie Ghada Rest In Peace. I will never forget her sparkling eyes and smile.”
A day after Bella also took to her Instagram story to pay tribute to the late family members. She reposted her father’s post alongside a caption that read, “I was honored to know Ghada. She opened her home to me. She was always full of life and love and support. She encouraged me and lent me strength. An amazing woman. We Palestinians are lucky she was one of us. Rest in peace to my beautiful Auntie Ghada.”
