Actress Gina Carano first rose to fame as an MMA fighter.

Although she became an international sensation as Cara Dune on the Disney+ live-action “The Mandalorian” series, Disney fired her from future “Star Wars” projects due to her controversial social media posts. This includes “Rangers of the New Republic,” in which Carano was slated to play the lead.

Although her fans were disappointed with Lucasfilm’s decision – to say the least – Carano was quickly scooped up by Ben Shapiro’s conservative company, “The Daily Wire” and she has been hard at work on her upcoming film “Terror on the Prairie.”

But some fans are hoping that they will get to see Carano back in the ring… especially considering she never got her legendary face-off with Ronda Rousey.

Both Ronda Rouse and Gina Carano are notable names in the world of women’s mixed martial arts. Although both women stepped out of the cage to pursue different projects (Carano went into acting and Rousey turned to pro-wrestling), fans are still hoping that there might be a face-off in the future.

The good folks over at the Sportster put together a long list of reasons why the two greats never did face-off in the ring. Carano’s career first took off in 2006, when she quickly made a name for herself with an 8-0 professional record within two years of competing. In 2007, she became the first-ever nationally televised female MMA winner when she beat Julie Kedzie.

While Carano was making a splash on TV screens, Rousey was perfecting her Judo skills for the 2008 Olympics. She captured a bronze medal and became the first American woman to score a medal in the Judo competition. However, just when Rousey was beginning her MMA career, Carano decided to take some time off after a knockout defeat from Cris Cyborg.

In 2011, Carano decided to focus on acting and by 2014, Ronda Rousey had become the biggest name in the MMA. That same year, Carano announced that she was looking to return to the cage, but the long-awaited match never came to be.

Although Rousey, now a new mom, has turned to pro-wrestling, fans are hoping that Carano might return to the cage sometime in the near future.

Gina Carano Returns To The Silver Screen With ‘Terror On The Prairie’

Although many thought that Carano’s acting career was over once Lucasfilm gave her the boot, it looks like her acting career is only getting started. Earlier this month, the MMA-fighter-turned-actress took to Instagram to share a teaser for her upcoming film, available exclusively through The Daily Wire.

The minute-long trailer for the new film tells the story of a family trying to survive against a gang of outlaws looking for revenge. The official synopsis of the film reads, “On the Montana plains, a frontier woman must protect herself against a ruthless gang of outlaws h—-bent on revenge.”

Carano is battle-ready in the movie trailer, packing knives and wielding shotguns. At the beginning of the clip, Carano can be heard saying, “I’m going to pack the wagon and take our children out of this God-forsaken place.”

“Teaser to #TerrorOnThePrairie,” she began in her Instagram post. “A western movie we all shot during 2021 while the world lost its mind.. this is something we will all be proud of. My heart. ❤️” She tagged about a dozen costars in the film before ending with, “Can’t wait to have some fun promoting. ?”
