Will Smith is getting candid with his fans about some low moments in his life.
In a new trailer released for Will's upcoming YouTube Originals docuseries, "The Best Shape Of My Life," the actor opened up about undergoing a journey of self-reflection.
As you might know, earlier this year, the "The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air" star announced on social media that he was in the "worst shape of his life" amid the COVID-19 pandemic and was looking to fix that.
His journey to transforming his health and physical wellbeing was documented in the series, but according to Will going through the process was much more than just losing weight.
Will Smith Talks Mental Health Struggles
The teaser started with Will saying, "This began as a journey to get in the best shape of my life," before his wife Jada Pinkett Smith interjected, saying "Even better than iRobot?"
The "MIB" actor revealed that his goal was to lose 20 pounds in the space of 20 weeks, but in the process, he soon discovered some scary truths about himself. He said:
I thought I was getting into the best shape of my life physically. But mentally I was somewhere else and I ended up discovering a whole lot of hidden things about myself.
The Philadephia native also spoke about writing his memoir and how it will expose things that no one ever knew about him. Soon, the trailer changes to a scene where Will is surrounded by his family, and he says:
"That was the only time in my life that I ever considered suicide.
The emotional trailer ends with Will wiping away tears while his daughter Willow held back tears. The six-episode series will premiere on November 8, the same time his autobiography will be released.
Will And Jada Pinkett Smith's Marriage
The teaser comes days after Jada opened up about her controversial marriage to Will and their sex life during an episode of "Red Table Talk" that saw Gwyneth Paltrow as the guest.
The "Girls Trip" actress confessed that keeping things spicy in the bedroom was harder than usual. She discussed the huge pitfalls of having expectations of one's partner in the bedroom and how that makes things complicated.
Although she and Will faced such issues early on in their marriage, Jada shared that they have since evolved and are now trying to vocalize their desires and wants no matter how uncomfortable the process might be.
She also talked about what it was like to speak to her kids, Willow and Jaden, about sex when they were much younger.
