Tom Brady speaks out about his retirement for the first time since announcing his decision on February 1.
On why he decided to quit football: “A lot of things have come up over the years in the last 10 years of my life as I got closer to this decision this last week, and it just in the end felt like it was just the right time to do it.”
He continued: “I've had an amazing time in place doing it. I am really excited for what's ahead. And I don't know what that means or where it takes me, but I know that it'll be fun and exciting.”
Brady said he missed a lot of things in his personal life while solely focusing on his career in the past 22 years.
He said: “Basically the entire season and there's no time to look right or left, and there's a lot of things that are happening in your life that you don't look right or left, you're still looking straight ahead that you miss something.”
Brady also noted: “The game just goes on. It should. And it's gonna outlast everybody. But I was fortunate to do it for a long time for 22 years.”
But will Brady ever return to the NFL?
He said: “I'm just gonna take things as they come. I think that's the best way to put it. And I don't think anything, never, you know, you never say never.”
Brady added: “At the same time, I know that I feel very good about my decision. So just six months from now, it most likely won’t."
