UFC fighter Conor McGregor won't face any charges following the bathroom incident that occurred at an NBA Finals game earlier this summer.

The news comes after prosecutors concluded that there was "insufficient evidence" and "contradicting and/or no corroborating witnesses" to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Conor McGregor sexually assaulted the woman in the bathroom at the game.

Conor McGregor attended the Nuggets vs. Heat game on June 9. A few days later, a woman came forward, accusing the UFC fighter of sexually assaulting her in the men's bathroom.

Prosecutors have reviewed the evidence and footage from the evening in question, ultimately coming to the conclusion that there is "insufficient evidence" and McGregor won't face any charges.

The footage did show McGregor going into the men's bathroom with his accuser for approximately five minutes, and after the two left the restroom, they were seen together in a club inside the NBA arena. The two ultimately went their separate ways around 12:40 AM.

In addition to the footage, prosecutors also heard from witnesses, one of which was an attendant who was in the same bathroom at the time. Although he saw Conor McGregor and his alleged victim go into a bathroom stall together, he "did not hear any signs of distress or sounds that would corroborate that whatever was occurring was not consensual."

A friend of McGregor's accuser also spoke to prosecutors, who told them that the accuser never mentioned that McGregor had attacked her, but she did call her mom that same evening to "tell her she had met" Conor McGregor.

"In light of the above facts and circumstances," prosecutors wrote in the memo, adding, "the State would not be able to satisfy its burden of proof beyond a reasonable doubt."

This is not the first time the MMA fighter has run sexual assault accusations. In fact, he was recently sued in Ireland by a woman who accused him of raping her in a hotel penthouse in 2018. Karen J. Kessler, a spokeswoman for McGregor, said in a statement in 2021 that those allegations were “categorically rejected” and that the MMA fighter is “confident that justice will prevail” in the civil case. He was not charged with a crime for this incident.

In 2020, a woman alleged McGregor “attempted sexual assault and sexual exhibition” on the French island of Corsica. McGregor’s agent, Audie Attar of Paradigm Sports Management, issued a statement about the allegation, saying, “I am irate and putting out a warning loud and clear: Conor McGregor is not and will not be a target for those seeking to score a headline or a payday.”
