Vanilla Ice CANCELS Massive 4th Of July Concert After Texas COVID-19 Numbers Spike!

Vanilla Ice has just canceled his massive concert in Austin, Texas after the government warned of a huge spike in COVID-19 cases in the area.

In a video, posted by the 'Ice, Ice, Baby' rapper -- he explained that he didn't realize how bad the numbers were in Texas, and has decided it would be safer to cancel the concert.

"I'm not going,' Ice says in the video, explaining, "I listen to my fans, I didn't know the numbers were so bad."

He continued, "We take it seriously and make sure everybody is safe, hopefully, by new years this Corona crap will have a cure."

The cancelation comes after the rapper and promoters decided to go ahead with the Friday night concert, and telling fans they would have to enter at their own risk.

The rapper was set to perform at the Emerald Point Bar & Grill on the shores of Lake Travis. The lake is a HUGE party spot on the 4th of July and will be packed with tourists and boaters.

The concert was being dubbed the "Independence Day Throwback Beach Party " and was set to have over 2,500 people in attendance.

Fans buying a ticket for the festivities were given a warning upon purchasing their way in the door, saying...

“Important notice re COVID-19: Please note any interaction with the general public poses an elevated risk of being exposed to COVID-19 and we cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed while in attendance at the event. The event organizer is solely responsible for the health and safety of this event. We encourage you to follow the organizer’s safety policies, as well as local laws and restrictions.”

Interestingly, according to one report, the Travis County Health Department wasn't happy about the situation -- releasing a statement to media about the danger of going to the concert.

"This is not wise regardless of who is performing at any gathering right now. The best way to be nostalgic is by protecting your parents and grandparents and staying home," they said.

It appears Ice is doing the right thing here, so you will just have to place 'Ice Ice Baby' on the speakers at your backyard BBQ!
