Rob Lowe says he's glad for Demi Moore's new biography because it's helped him with his own sobriety.

Moore Played a Role In Lowe's Sobriety


Lowe appeared on "The View" on Monday, and said Moore “was the first person I ever knew who got sober.”

Moore has had her own struggles with drugs and alcohol. After nearly 20 years being sober, she relapsed when she was in her 40s.

'A Huge Inspiration'


Lowe went on to say that Moore was a "huge inspiration" to him.

“It was the ‘80s, we were all doing our thing. I just remember thinking, ‘If that girl can get sober, anybody can.' Everybody has that person in their life where they go, ‘That’s a great example.’ So it was very helpful.”

Moore Re-Examined Her Own Life


In speaking with "Good Morning America," Moore said she had to ask herself how she actually got to that new low point:

"From where I started to what I’ve experienced, where I’ve been, how did I get here?”
