Rihanna is the November Vogue cover star and she sat down for an interesting and wide ranging interview that covered politics, Fenty, and whether or not fans could expect new music anytime soon.

One of the topics tackled in the interview was the well-substantiated rumor that Rihanna declined to headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show out of solidarity with Colin Kaepernick.

She confirmed that that was true and that she disagreed with the NFL on multiple issues.

"I couldn't dare do that. For what? Who gains from that? Not my people. I just couldn't be a sellout. I couldn't be an enabler. There's things within that organization that I do not agree with at all, and I was not about to go and be of service to them in any way."

Rihanna also opened up about new music on the way. She hasn't released an album since 2016's Anti, and while fans certainly enjoy her forays into fashion and makeup, they're ready for some new bops. Rihanna confirmed that, yes, she was working on new music, and that it would be coming "soon."

"I have been trying to get back into the studio. It's not like I can lock myself in for an extended amount of time, like I had the luxury of doing before. I know I have some very unhappy fans who don't understand the inside bits of how it works, but they've earned it. They got me here."

What can they expect from the upcoming album?

""I like to look at it as a reggae-inspired or reggae-infused album. It's not gonna be typical of what you know as reggae. But you're going to feel the elements in all of the tracks ... Reggae always feels right to me. It's in my blood."
