The much-anticipated fifth season of the British gangster drama “Peaky Blinders” is right around the corner. The show is set to hit Netflix in the U.S. on October 4th.
The show’s main character, Thomas Shelby (played by Cillian Murphy), has grown from a street gangster to a legit business man and now a member of Parliament. Season 5 takes place in 1929 during the turmoil of the Great Depression.
On Friday, BBC One released that first full scene from the season. In it, we seen that while Shelby might be in Parliament now, violence is still very much a part of his life.
Tommy walks from the back of his house, through a field where there’s a scarecrow on a cross. He finds a cryptic note, and promptly realizes the field is boobytrapped with landmines. As he tries to escape, his son comes running from the house towards the field.
What happens next is something we’ll have to wait about a month to find out.
