Notorious B.I.G. Nominated For The Rock And Roll Hall of Fame

By Mike Walters

The Notorious B.I.G is amongst the newest group of musicians to be nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The 2020 class was announced this week, and not only is Biggie on the list but huge acts like Whitney Houston and The Dave Matthews Band will also be on the ballot.

The voting pool includes artists, historians, journalists and members of the music industry, and fans will also have a chance to vote on the Hall of Fame's website.

Obviously, Biggie Smalls being one of the best rappers in Hip Hop history, if inducted, would only be the second solo rapper to be entered into the Hall of Fame after Tupac in 2017.

Biggie's Death

The voted in class will be announced in January and inducted at the HOF ceremony on May 2nd, at Cleveland’s Public Hall.

Biggie was shot and killed in 1997, after leaving Peterson Automotive Museum for a Hip Hop event. When leaving the event, Biggie's truck stopped at a red light, and a black Chevy Impala pulled up and started firing. Four bullets struck Biggie, and he was rushed Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
