Nick Gordon just dodged a bullet because the felony domestic violence and kidnapping charges against him have been dropped.
The Office of the State Attorney in Florida tells The Blast, “After a careful review of all available evidence in the case, our office determined that the felony charge of False Imprisonment could not be proven beyond a reasonable doubt at trial.”
Gordon was arrested earlier this year after his girlfriend claimed he punched her and refused to let her leave their apartment after a night of fighting.
The decision to drop felony charges came after the victim made it clear to the judge she wanted all charges against Gordon dropped. Prosecutors felt the case wouldn’t hold up in court without her help.
Gordon has instead been charged with misdemeanor battery domestic violence. Officials also noted he completed classes in anger management and alcohol and substance abuse.
Still hanging over Gordon's head — he is still a "person of interest" in the 2015 death of Bobbi Kristina, but has yet to be charged with anything.
