New York Yankees Pitcher Gets DRILLED In The Head By Line Drive -- See The Horrifying Video!

By Mike Walters

New York Yankees pitcher Masahiro Tanaka suffered a frightening injury after taking a blinding fast line-drive off of the head coming off the bat of one of their biggest hitters.

The video is one of the scariest moments ever caught on film and happened just minutes after the Yankees started their Spring Training 2.0 practices following the COVID-19 outbreak.

In the clip, Tanaka immediately falls to the ground clutching his head, as Giancarlo Stanton who hit the ball crouches down in disbelief.

According to reports, trainers for the team rushed to the mound, as Tanaka stayed on the ground for over 5 minutes. Luckily, at some point, he did sit up and was helped off of the filed by several trainers.

The 31-year-old pitcher has faced several other batters before throwing to the Yankees slugger. As you can see, there is no net in front of the pitcher's mound -- which is normal in practice -- because the team was playing a simulated game.

Apparently, after the incident, they brought out a net for the remainder of practice.

Interestingly, the players only reported back to the team on Wednesday of this week, following a three-month stoppage due to COVID-19.

The break was largely due to a labor dispute between the MLB and the players association about the safety of returning to the field and regulations for the return.

As you are about to see, Coronavirus is the last thing on Tanaka's mind after he gets drilled with a baseball.

At this point, it is unclear how serious his injuries are for the crushing blow -- but he is currently being checked out. Tanaka is in the last year of his $155 million contract.
