Lil Nas X is still in contact with his elementary school teacher and shared photos she recently sent him from back in the day.
The 20-year-old rapper posted a series of photos of him from back in the 4th grade working on school projects.
Rapper Wale commented on the photos, “This last week” and another fan said, “Why you look the same.”
Lil Nas X is clearly in a good mood, and he should be, after Billboard announced Monday that the rapper’s song “Old Town Road” with Billy Ray Cyrus has officially stayed atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 17 weeks.
The closest songs below those all stayed at the top for 14 straight weeks. The songs include; 2015’s “Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars and 2009’s “I Gotta Feeling” by The Black Eyed Peas, 2005’s “We Belong Together” by Mariah Carey, 1997’s “Candle in The Wind” by Elton John, 1996’s “Macarena”, 1994’s “I’ll Make Love to You” by Boyz II Men and 1992’s “I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston.
Mariah Carey passed the torch to Lil Nas X on social media, writing, “Sending love & congrats to @LilNasX on breaking one of the longest running records in music history! We’ve been blessed to hold this record with a song that means a great deal to @BoyzIIMen and myself and has touched so many. Keep living your best life! ❤”
Lil Nas X was stoked by Carey’s shout out, “wowwww thank you so much mariah! you are a legend and an icon and i’m blessed to even have you acknowledging me right now! growing up to your music & now having you talk to me directly is unreal!” he responded.
