"Not to sound dramatic, but this is the day I nearly died. Took a pretty good fall climbing with @alexhonnold at Red Rock. Looked up and within seconds the rope was being cut by the rock while I dangled some 600 ft in the air. I remember looking down at the ground below," the actor tweeted.

Leto shared a video immediately following the accident, where he can be heard yelling, “Holy f***ing s***, holy f***, it was fraying right at the point" at the same time showing the rope rubbing against a jagged rock. You can hear in the video how out of breath and scared the actor is after he realized he almost dropped off the side of the cliff to his death.

The actor tweeted about how scary the incident was for him but explained how he didn't get upset until after the whole thing sunk in, saying, "It was a strange moment - less fear, more matter of fact, and slightly melancholy. The adrenaline came after, when I got back on the wall. But we made it through and lived to see another day 😅🙏🏼"

Interestingly, if you didn't recognize the name, Alex Honnold is the rock climber who scaled Yosemite's 'El Captian' in the Oscar-winning documentary, 'Free Solo.' So, it's safe to say that the actor was in good hands during his climbing trip.

Training For His Rock Climb...

In the most shocking moment, besides the fall itself, is Jared's final message about his rock-climbing trip where he said, "Overall it was actually quite fun. we continued climbing into the night."

So let us get this straight, he kept climbing after dangling 600 FT in the air and almost dying after falling?! Maybe this is his sport after all!

Fans of the 'Suicide Squad' actor are pumped he is not hurt and have taken to social media after seeing the crazy video, "Are youuuu serious !!!!!" one fan wrote. Another added, "Omg I can’t believe that thank God everything is good now and you are safe."

"Thank you for not dying." a fan said.
