'Gladiator' Star Russell Crowe Allegedly Owes Pennsylvania Department of Revenue Over $100,000

It's unclear exactly what the money owed for -- as the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue "administers the tax laws and other revenue programs of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania."

In the documents, it appears a lien has been filed against the actor in January of 2019, and the government has gone to court in that state already to try and collect its cash.

Interestingly, Russell has quite the connection to the area...not only has he filmed movies in Pittsburgh, but in a Sotheby's auction during his divorce with actress Danielle Spencer, the actor sold off a one of a kind 'Pirates' jacket he wore as the character John Brennan in the movie, "The Next Three Days."

Russell Crowe is currently celebrating the 20th anniversary of the release of the Roman epic film 'Gladiator.' The film's director, Ridley Scott, is sharing stories from the set including one where Crowe was almost mauled by a Tiger.

The director revealed to Variety that Russell went head-to-head with a real tiger during one of the most epic battle scenes in the entire movie.

"[The tiger was] a big boy from tail to nose, eleven feet. You've got two guys on a chain with a ring in the floor to control it," he said.

He continued, 'Russell said, ''OK, release them'' and when Russell would fall back, the tiger would come out of the hole and Russell would roll out of the way."

Apparently, the tiger came within feet of the actor and he said at the time, "F**k me, that was close.''

Of course, 'Gladiator' continues to be one of the most successful movies ever made -- In other words, Russell will have no issues paying any amount Pennslyvanie believes it may be owed. He is really, really rich!!
