Duane 'Dog The Bounty Hunter' Chapman is adamant he never actually dated longtime assistant Moon Angell, in fact, he says the engagement was nothing but a stunt to clear up tabloid rumors!

Dog revealed the shocking news while sitting down for an interview with Entertainment Tonight, where he explained he planned the stunt all along because he knew it would squash all the rumors.

So, the reality star went on to the Dr.Oz show and asked for Moon Angell's hand in marriage, knowing she would say no, and he could put the whole thing to rest.

Of course, that is not exactly what happened and most people took it as a very emotional, very real situation, where Dog was pouring his heart out to his longtime friend and assistant.

Dog is then asked point-blank...."are you dating her, were you dating her?"

His answer: "No, Never."

Interestingly, he is asked a follow-up question about whether or not he would ever think about dating Moon Angell..." would you have dated her if she wanted to date?" Dog admits, "Yes, I gotta be honest with you brother."

I Never Dated Moon Angell, NEVER!

Dog says in the interview, that Moon was honest with him and said, "No one will ever love you like Beth did."

So there you have it!

Dog also discusses not having Beth for his first Valentine's Day, and he explains "They say time heals all wounds," and he says "no it doesn't."

As we reported, Dog has denied dating Moon Angell for months now, but many didn't believe him. One of those people is his daughter, who has been relentless on Twitter, upset that anyone stepped into Duane's life at this point.

Fans Are Conflicted On Dog's Decision...

Fans of the 'Dog' are sending him messages via Instagram some of which are very supportive, and some upset he used a stunt involving a marriage proposal. "My husband died. A wonderful person, my best friend. You were lucky to be able to say goodbye! I wasn’t! Respect Beth in death as you did in life," one fan said.

Another added, "I am quite worried about Duane’s severely delicate emotions. Praying for him and his family. This man needs a decompression period, and intense counseling...and perhaps medication. This is a MAJOR life change. He is vulnerable and lonely. He has prayers with him. This just shows how devastated Dog is and how much support he needs in this confusing time ❤️🙏 "

But, a few fans were not so happy with how he went about squashing the rumors, with one person saying, "Sorry Dog, I love you, but that stunt was disrespectful to Beth and her children. My opinion, watching Beth all these years, you shouldn’t have done it. At the same time, I feel like your children need to step up and be there for you."
